COUNCIL NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #4: Off-Sale Liquor License Application; Case Of Mr. Paul Hertle, Paul <br /> And Bill's, Inc. (]Formg?ly' Discount #10 Liqu.ors): <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich stated that there is no 'residency within the City' <br />requirement regarding liquor license applications. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Reimann and seconded by Councilmember Sorteberg to <br />approve of the application of Mr. Paul Hertle for Paul and Bill's, Inc., <br />formerly Discount #10 Liquors (contingent upon the Chief of Police's report) <br />to commence on June 1, 1983 and expire on June 30, 1983 and said license fee <br />shall be pro-rated. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Reimann, <br />Schlueter and Van Wagner. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Reimann and seconded by Councilmember Sorteberg to <br />approve of the application of Mr. Paul Hertle for Paul and Bill's, Inc., <br />commencing on July 1, 1983 and expiring on June 30, 1984. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />Arnie Cox - 17705 Nowthen Blvd. - Referred to public hearing being conducted <br />by Metro Council regarding mitigation and litigation in reference to landfills. <br />Ramsey should have some input and it is important for City of Ramsey to have <br />some realization of costs and ramifications involved with a landfill in the <br />City. Mr. Cox then stated that it is absolutely disastrous the kind of effort <br />legislators have been putting forth to change the State Aid formula and urged <br />concerned citizens to contact legislators demanding some action. Mr. Cox <br />then complimented Councilmember Reimann for his involvement with Arbor Day <br />ceremonies and stated that thousands of trees have been planted in Ramsey <br />due to the efforts of Councilmember Reimann. <br /> <br />Ed Mingo - 15231 Kangaroo - Stated that he was perusing the Minneapolis <br />Tribune last week and came across an article regarding Ramsey's possible <br />violation of the open meeting law and inquired what action was going to be <br />taken. <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich stated that any prosecuting action would have to be <br />taken by the County Attorney, that this City Council cannot investigate <br />itself and that Mr. Mingo could contact the County Attorney with his questions. <br /> <br />Ed Mingo stated that Council should not bring up any more new business until <br />this cloud is lifted from Council's head. <br /> <br />Bruce Bacon - Ramsey Tree Inspector - Presented a map to Council designating <br />firewood piles in the City and noted that there is an increase in the use <br />of wood for energy. <br /> <br />Merlin Hunt/James Hunt - 167th and County Rd. #5 - Requested discussing <br />easement situation between James Hunt and City of Ramsey. <br /> <br />C/May 31, 1983 <br /> Page 4 of 26 <br /> <br /> <br />
