Issue I12: Cooperative Purchases and Budgeting.

The above entertains the discussion of who benefits from what. If it is possible to identify users,
one outcome could be to associate certain maintenance related purchases to RYAA and in some
manner contribute those dollars to the not-for-profit association. The result would be purchase of
the same non-capital items, such as grass seed and field marking paint at a 6.5% "savings". We
would need to have increased cooperation in planning our purchases in addition to a very clear idea
as to what may be eligible for this purchase arrangement.

Staff Recommendation:

Staff recommends approval of player benches for Fields 5 and 6 in Central Park and identify
funding source.

Staff recommends that the Finance Committee provide direction to park maintenance and
operational dollars being utilized for succinct purposes.

Staff requests direction with regard to City of Ramsey and RYAA cooperative purchasing
proposal.

Committee Action:

Based upon discussion.

Reviewed by:

Parks/UtiLities Coordinator

Copies also distributed to:

City Administrator
Finance Officer
City Engineer
Park and Recreation Commission
RYAA President Dave Baack

FC:05/25/93
