Motion by Chairperson Nixt, seconded by Commissioner Johnson to close the public hearing at <br />7:28 p.m. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Johnson, Brauer, Jeffrey, Van <br />Scoy and Watson. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioner Shepherd. <br /> <br />Commission Input <br /> <br />Motion by Chairperson Nixt, seconded by Commissioner Van Scoy to recommend that the City <br />Council adopt findings of fact relating to Jeff and Barbara Rockow's request for an interim use <br />permit to allow for outside storage of commercial equipment in the front yard of a residential <br />property, favorable to the applicant. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Van Scoy, Brauer, Jeffrey, <br />Johnson, and Watson. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioner Shepherd. <br /> <br />Motion by Chairperson Nixt, seconded by Commissioner Jeffrey to recommend that City Council <br />approve Mr. and Mrs. Rockow's request for an Interim Use Permit, based on the findings of fact, <br />to allow for the outside storage of commercial equipment in the front yard of a residential <br />property for a temporary period of time. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Jeffrey, Brauer, Johnson, Van <br />Scoy and Watson. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioner Shepherd. <br /> <br />Case #4: Request for a Home Occupation Permit; Case of James Corolewski <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Community Development Director Frolik stated Mr. Corolewski is retiring from his full-time <br />employment this May and would like to establish a part-time gunsmith service in his home. She <br />advised the shop is proposed to be located in the lower level of the home. The customer entrance <br />will be secured and separated from the room in which the services are performed and where guns <br />are stored. She stated the proposed hours of operation are 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday <br />through Friday, and 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, with all other hours being by <br />appointment only. She indicated Staff recommends approval of the request for a home <br />occupation permit. <br /> <br />Citizen Input <br /> <br />Chairperson Nixt opened the public hearing at 7:31 p.m. <br /> <br />Mr. Corolewski indicated he would like to change his hours of operation to be more customer <br />friendly, with the new hours being 12:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday. <br /> <br />Planning Commission/March 11, 2004 <br /> Page 5 of 18 <br /> <br /> <br />
