I <br />i <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> <br /> I <br /> I <br /> <br />1) exempt from the permit and fee requirements; <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />limited to six (6) square feet in area for residential property and <br />thirty-two (32) square feet for non-residential property; <br /> <br />3) <br /> <br />limited to one (1) such sign per street frontage upon which the <br />property abuts, exclusive of directional signs (Exception: An <br />additional "Open House" sign may be used); <br /> <br />4) to be removed within thirty (30) days following the lease or sale. <br /> <br />5) Lease signs are restricted to wall or window signs. <br /> <br />Subd. <br /> <br />6 <br /> <br />Portable Signs are permitted only in business and industrial type districts and are <br />subject to temporary permit and fee requirements. Temporary sign permits for <br />portable signs shall be allowed for ten (10) day periods, four (4) times a year per <br />business. However, where more than one (1) proprietorship or business uses the <br />same building or parcel, no more than one (1) portable sign device shall be in place <br />at any one time. <br /> <br />Subd. 7 <br /> <br />Public Event Signs may be erected and maintained for a period not to exceed <br />thirty (30) days prior to the date on which the event is scheduled to occur and shall <br />be removed within forty-eight (48) hours of the termination of said event. A fixed <br />fee per sign not removed within 48 hours following the termination of the event will <br />be established by the City Council and will be used to defray the cost of removal. <br />Number, location and size of said public event signs shall be subject to the approval <br />of the Zoning Administrator with consideration given to the public safety and the <br />signage reasonably necessary and appropriate for the intended purpose. <br /> <br />9.12.06 DISTRICT REGULATIONS <br /> <br />In addition to those signs permitted or required in all districts as described in Section 9.12.03 <br />(General Provisions) and 9.12.05 (Temporary Signs), the following signs are permitted in each <br />specific district and shall be regulated as to size, location and character according to the <br />requirements herein set forth. <br /> <br />9.12.07 RESIDENTIAL TYPE DISTRICTS <br /> <br />Subd. 1 <br /> <br />Area Identification Signs. One (1) sign per vehicular access to a development, <br />not to exceed thirty-~o (32) square feet in area is permitted. <br /> <br />Subd. 2 <br /> <br />Temporary Signs. Temporary signs are permitted in accordance with Section <br />9.12.05. <br /> <br />9.12.08 BUSINESS TYPE DISTRICTS <br /> <br />Subd. 1 Business Use Signs <br /> <br />a) <br /> <br />Wall, Canopy or Marquee Sign. Total sign area may be up to fifteen percent (15%) of the <br />front building facade.
