I i I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I 1) exempt from the permit and fee requirements; 2) limited to six (6) square feet in area for residential property and thirty-two (32) square feet for non-residential property; 3) limited to one (1) such sign per street frontage upon which the property abuts, exclusive of directional signs (Exception: An additional "Open House" sign may be used); 4) to be removed within thirty (30) days following the lease or sale. 5) Lease signs are restricted to wall or window signs. Subd. 6 Portable Signs are permitted only in business and industrial type districts and are subject to temporary permit and fee requirements. Temporary sign permits for portable signs shall be allowed for ten (10) day periods, four (4) times a year per business. However, where more than one (1) proprietorship or business uses the same building or parcel, no more than one (1) portable sign device shall be in place at any one time. Subd. 7 Public Event Signs may be erected and maintained for a period not to exceed thirty (30) days prior to the date on which the event is scheduled to occur and shall be removed within forty-eight (48) hours of the termination of said event. A fixed fee per sign not removed within 48 hours following the termination of the event will be established by the City Council and will be used to defray the cost of removal. Number, location and size of said public event signs shall be subject to the approval of the Zoning Administrator with consideration given to the public safety and the signage reasonably necessary and appropriate for the intended purpose. 9.12.06 DISTRICT REGULATIONS In addition to those signs permitted or required in all districts as described in Section 9.12.03 (General Provisions) and 9.12.05 (Temporary Signs), the following signs are permitted in each specific district and shall be regulated as to size, location and character according to the requirements herein set forth. 9.12.07 RESIDENTIAL TYPE DISTRICTS Subd. 1 Area Identification Signs. One (1) sign per vehicular access to a development, not to exceed thirty-~o (32) square feet in area is permitted. Subd. 2 Temporary Signs. Temporary signs are permitted in accordance with Section 9.12.05. 9.12.08 BUSINESS TYPE DISTRICTS Subd. 1 Business Use Signs a) Wall, Canopy or Marquee Sign. Total sign area may be up to fifteen percent (15%) of the front building facade. At least fifty percent (50%) of the signage area must be placed on the Page 9 of 19
