Sign height shall not exceed the top of the parapet wall or, if no parapet wall, sign <br />height shall not exceed height of eaves. The gross surface area of a wall, canopy or <br />marquee sign may be increased by ten percent if such wall sign: <br /> <br />consists only of individual, outlined alphabetic, numeric and/or symbolic characters <br />without background except that provided by the building surface to which the sign <br />is to be affixed; and <br /> <br />illumination, if any, is achieved through shielded illumination, shielded silhouette <br />lighting, or shielded spot lighting but not any lighting where the light source is <br />visible or exposed on the face or sides of the characters. <br /> <br />A wall, canopy or marquee sign may be located on the outermost wall of any principal <br />building but shall not project more than sixteen (16) inches from the wall to which the sign <br />is to be affixed. A wall sign shall not project higher than the parapet line of the wall to <br />which the sign is to be affixed. <br /> <br />Ground Sign. There shall not be more than one (1) ground sign for each parcel. The gross <br />surface area of a ground sign shall not exceed one hundred (100) square feet for each <br />exposed face nor exceed an aggregate gross surface area of two hundred square feet~ <br /> <br />Secondary Ground Sign. Secondary ground signs shall be permitted only if two (2) or <br />more new automotive product lines (automobile makes) are offered for sale on the <br />premises. The gross surface area of a secondary ground sign shall not exceed fifty (50) <br />square feet for each exposed face nor exceed an aggregate gross surface area of one- <br />hundred (100) square feet. <br /> <br />Service Bay Identification Signs. Service bay identification signs providing direction or <br />instruction to persons using the facility and containing no advertising material of any kind <br />shall be subject to the following: <br /> <br />I) All service bay identification signs shall be wall signs. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />There shall not be more than one (1) service bay identification sign for each service <br />bay located on the premises. <br /> <br />The gross surface area of a service bay identification sign be counted against the <br />maximum allowable sign area for the subject property. <br /> <br />4) <br /> <br />A service bay identification sign may be located on the outermost wall of any <br />principal building adjacent to a service bay entrance. <br /> <br />5) <br /> <br />A service bay identification sign shall not project higher than the parapet line of the <br />wall to which the sign is to be afl'med. <br /> <br />Service Island Identification Sign.
