This improvement will <br />primarily consist of an eight foot bituminous path within the City's premier park. The 45 acre <br />Central Park serves as a focal point for community interaction. Common events include athletic <br />games, youth activities, civic group and public meetings, and significant annual occurrences such <br />as the Lions' Club Community Picnic and Pet Vaccination Clinic. <br /> <br />The paved path will ensure more public participation by those most easily discouraged by unsure <br />surfaces, the elderly and persons with any degree of mobility impairment, permanent or temporary. <br /> <br />The conu'actor selected for the project must meet Community Development Block Grant guidelines. <br />Please refer to the enclosed material to determine if your firm qualifies to bid on the project. <br /> <br />Bidders shall be required to itemize the following costs associated with path construction: <br /> <br />Cost per lineal foot of sub-cutting existing turf $. 4.55 <br /> <br />Cost per lineal foot of Class V gravel installed <br />(or Con-Bit, please specify) $ 3.65 <br /> <br />Cost per lineal foot of installed bituminous <br />Cost per lineal foot of turf restoration <br /> <br /> Class V <br /> 6.58 <br />$ <br /> <br /> 4.05 <br /> <br />Con-Bit <br /> <br /> 1.35 <br />$, <br /> <br />The City expects to pave a minimum of 1,739 lineal feet. The subsoils are undisturbed, <br />compacted, and granular in composition. Therefore, the City reserves the right to consider <br />alternatives to the referenced installation of Class V gravel or Con-Bit base material. <br /> <br />Specifications; <br /> <br />Bituminous <br /> <br />2 inches in depth by 8 feet wide Mn/DOT 2331 Wear Course cross <br />sloped to 2%. <br /> <br />Class V (or Con-Bit) <br /> <br />4 inches of compacted Class V or approved equal <br /> <br />Grass seed mixture <br /> <br />48% perenrfial bluegrass (2 types) <br />48% perennial ryegrass (2 types) <br /> <br />Subgrade <br /> <br />Compacted to 95% standard proctor <br /> <br />Enclosed is a project and a site location map. The City may be available to assist with certain <br />elements of the project and will be responsible for staking prior to construction.
