Project #12 - Miscellaneous Improvements In 1992 the City Council approved the Charitable Gambling Trust Fund as a source of revenue for the parks system. In 1993 the Council set up a policy of matching funds for donations and requests for expenditures from this fund. It is projected that the funds will experience annual $3,000 expenditures. Project- Miscellaneous Im6rovements Miscellaneous Improvements Year Fun ing Annual $ 3,000 - Charitable Gambling Fund $ 3,000 Project #13 - Rogers Lake, Rum River and Oxbow Districts Between the 318 acre Anoka County Rum River Central Park at the extreme north edge of Ramsey and the 63 acre River's Bend park on the south edge is over seven miles of the meandering Rum River. Along the corridor are the following parks: Riverwood Hills South [1.5 acres], Brookview North [2.7 acres] and Stanhope River Hills [over 5 acres]. Proposed are improved access [trails], signage, picnic areas, canoe launching/landing and erosion control for these three parks. Also proposed are improved picnic and shelter areas for Rivers Bend. Project . Rouers Lake. Rum River and O~bow Districts Rum River Park Improvements 1999 $ 60,000 - LFT $ 60,000 Project #14 - Rum River District It is expected that by the end of the century the property north of 153rd Avenue, west of Roanoke Street and east of T.H. #-47 will be fully developed. Therefore, the existing Woodland Green Park should be expanded with the introduction of tennis/basketball areas and a picnic shelter. Project - Rum River District Year Woodland Green 1999 $ 40,000 - Park Trust Fund $ 40,000 Project #15 - Lake Itasca District Forest Hideway is an undeveloped park that needs improved access to improve the area it can serve. Proposed is a trail connection to the Itasca Trail. Development of the park should also be initiated with a tot-lot, tennis court and picnic area.
