InDinerato~s In The Research Portion Of Their <br /> _Operations; Case Of.Atlas Incinerators, Inc.: <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Hendriksen and seconded by Commissioner F_owell to <br />table any action on Atlas' request for a conditional use permit until the <br />special Planning and Zoning meeting scheduled for June 23, 1988. <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Commissioner Hc~ell inquired as to when the Commission <br />can expect to receive copies of the public hearing minutes. The Secretary <br />replied that it would take about one week to transcribe the minutes. <br /> <br />Commissioner Hendriksen restated his motion as follows: <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Hendriksen to table any action on Atlas' request for <br />a conditional use permit until the Commission has received copies of the <br />public hearing minutes of June 7 and June 16 and has had at least one week <br />to review that documentation. <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Commissioner Howell noted that Commissioners Shumway <br />and LaDue were not at the public hearings and need that time to review the <br />minutes. Mr. Goodrich recommended that the Commission name a specific date <br />on which they will consider taking action. <br /> <br />Commissioner Hendriksen withdrew his motion. <br /> <br />Mr. Labat of Atlas Incinerators was present and stated, as a fact and not a <br />threat, that if the Planning Commission and City Council do not take action <br />by July 1, Atlas will have to make an economic decision to move elsewhere <br />or out of state. Atlas has major contracts coming up and cannot be in <br />their present location beyond November 1. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Holm and seconded by Chairman Zimmerman to table <br />action on Atlas' request for a conditional use permit until the special <br />Planning Commission meeting scheduled for Thursday, June 23, 1988. <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Commissioner Hendriksen inquired if the City could <br />make an effort, even hire temporary staff, to have the June 7 and June 16 <br />public hearing minutes completed prior to June 23. Mr. Hartley stated that <br />he will make duplicate tapes of the June 7 and 16 videos for Commissioners <br />to view. Chairman Zimmerman referred to a question raised at one of the <br />public hearings and inquired if burning 38 tons a day is necessary for <br />Planning & Zoning Commission/June 16, 1988 <br /> <br />Page 6 of 7 <br /> <br /> <br />
