Councilmember Cox stated that there should be wording added to Resolution #82-126 <br />congratulating the Sno-Barons for naming Ramsey as the city where the snowmobile <br />race would be taking place in their advertisments. <br /> <br />Case #1: Rgvenue Sh~rjn9 And Budget: <br /> <br />Council reviewed Budget Committee's proposed 1983 City Operational Budget. <br /> <br />Mr. Schnelle stated that he attended a seminar September 13, 1982, at the <br />Seasons in regards to Local Development Corporation in the City of Coon Rapids. <br />He stated that the 503 Program put out by the SBA is quite complicated, but is <br />innovative and will do a lot for business. He further stated that Ramsey is <br />not equipped to handle the 503 Program because of the financing involved. <br />He stated that Council has to look at hiring a part-time banking person to <br />carry out the 503 Program in Ramsey. He further stated that if Ramsey wants <br />to accomplish anything with LDC, it will have to go with the 503 Program. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cox noted that all candidates from this District have made <br />commitments to do something about local aids. He further stated that whether <br />he wins in this election or not, it is money well spent because it brought <br />the matter of State Aids out in the open. <br /> <br />Councilmember Reimann stated that regarding fuel costs in the budget, two <br />items should be checked out with the fuel supplier: <br /> <br />1. Is there a discount per gallon for paying cash on delivery? <br /> <br />2. Is there a discount for filling in the summer? <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec noted that the hiring of another patrolman is not in the budget. <br /> <br />Chief of Police Michael Auspos stated that Council should understand that <br />another patrolman is needed in Ramsey, but he did not submit for another <br />patro~an because of economic conditions. <br /> <br />Council recessed at 9:35 P.M. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the special Council Meeting back to order at 9:52 P.M. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec suggested that City Accountant compile a list of delinquent <br />fire call bills for Council review and action. <br /> <br />Merle Meviss~n stated that the City of Anoka is replacing their water truck. <br />The truck itself is in bad shape, but the tank and pump are in good shape. <br />He stated that Ramsey could probably purchase it for about $2500, and the <br />tank will fit on Ramsey's Dodge. Ramsey could then sell the International <br />and the dump boxes off the Dodge. <br /> <br />Mr. Schnelle stated that this.matter would be on the regular Council agenda. <br /> <br />MISCELLANEOUS <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Councilmember Van Wagner to adopt <br />Resolution #82-127 to send a letter of recognition and appreciation to <br />Tony Baker for a job well done on the hockey rink and warming house, further <br />that Tony Baker be present at the next regular Council meeting to accept <br />this letter.
