PROCEEDINGS OF CITY COUNCIL <br /> PUBLIC HEARING <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />A public hearing was called to order by Councilmember Reimann regarding <br />Improvement Project #82-6, Bowers Mississippi Acres, proposed assessments <br />at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota <br />at 8:50 P.M. on Wednesday, September 29, 1982. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Councilmember Gary Reimann (Acting Mayor) <br />Councilmember Sue Van Wagner <br />Councilmember A1 Sorteberg <br />Councilmember Arnie Cox <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Engineer Peter Raatikka <br />City Attorney William Goodrich <br />City Administrator Lloyd Schnelle <br />City Building Offical Clayton Berg <br />Reporter Eric Sandin <br /> <br />Mr. Raatikka explained to the audience that the reason for conducting the <br />assessment public hearing before the completion of the project was to get <br />the assessments on the 1983 tax roles, which will save the property owners <br />one years interest. <br /> <br />Mr. Raatikka then gave a slide presentation of the project and the assessment <br />costs. <br /> <br />Mr. Raatikka informed the audience that the assessments can be paid in 30 <br />days with no interest or if it is paid by November 12, 1982, it will not <br />go on the tax roles or it can be paid off any year after this provided <br />it is done before November 15. <br /> <br />Bert Dahlman - 14750 Bowers Drive - Stated that he received two assessments <br />and his second lot is only 70' wide and doesn't feel that it should be <br />considered buildable. <br /> <br />Mr. Raatikka stated that the lot in question is a lot of record and any <br />lot of record can be issued a building permit. <br /> <br />Council authorizes Mr. Raatikka to review Mr. Dahlman's lots and report back <br />to Council at the next regular Council meeting. <br /> <br />Anna Tolkinen - 14503 Bowers Drive - We have been assessed for two units <br />and we had filed with the County to make the two lots one lot. <br /> <br />Mr. Raatikka stated that two lots is on the existing tax roles and that is <br />why they were assessed for two lots. <br /> <br />Councilmember Van Wagner said that a property owner is assessed on the basis <br />of how many buildable lots are possible out of the parcel. <br /> <br />Sp C/September 29, 1982 <br /> Public Hearing <br /> Page 1 <br /> <br /> <br />
