In addition, the City intends to seek funds from <br />Metropolitan and State grant funds, private donations of dollars and <br />volunteer work in order to fully develop the property." <br /> <br />(Please refer to resolution file for Resolution #82-158). <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox, <br />Reimann and Van Wagner. Voting No: None° <br /> <br />Case ~4: Water Truck: <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Reimann and seconded by Councilmember Van Wagner to <br />purchase a water truck from the City of Anoka in the amount of $2500.00. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Ga~ec, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Reimann, <br />Cox and Van Wagner. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #5: Snowplowing at Gateway North Airport: <br /> <br />Mr. Schnelle stated that he has been contacted by Don Greenberg of Gateway <br />North Airport and that the airport is running into hard times economically. <br />Mr. Greenberg is requesting that the City plow snow at the airport -- that <br />the airport does not have the proper equipment, cannot afford to rent the <br />equipment and if the airport doesn't acquire some assistance from the City, <br />it will have to close down. He further stated that if the airport closes, <br />it is very doubtful that one would ever exist at that location again because <br />of configuration. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated that he had no problem in agreeing to the City assisting <br />the airport this winter, but that the decision should be made by Merle <br />Mevissen. <br /> <br />Merle Mevissen stated it would be possible for the City to plow the airport <br />if they were willing to wait a day or two after a heavy snowfall, that City <br />streets would get first priority. <br /> <br />Counc~lmember Reimann stated that the City should approach this matter <br />carefully because it could end up costing the City quite a bit of money. <br /> <br />Councilmember Van Wagner inquired as to what Council's response will be when <br />other businesses in the area request plowing of their property. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated that this is an emergency and it is the City's chance to <br />assist the taxpayer. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cox stated that possibility of upgrading airport snow removal <br />equipment using State Aviation Fuel TaX Funds should be investigated. <br />Councilmember Cox also stated that the City should recoup the cost of the <br />fuel utilized in plowing the airport. <br /> <br />Council requested that Merle Mevissen provide some figures as to how much <br />plowing the airport is going to cost the City. <br /> <br />Mr. Schnelle stated that the real question is: <br />involved and can the City get involved?" <br /> <br />"Does the City want to get <br /> <br />Sp C/November 3, 1982 <br /> Page 4 of 5 <br /> <br /> <br />
