Case #2: Authorization To Purchase City. Police Car T~rg.ugh Hennep.i.p. County <br /> Purchasing, Request For: <br /> <br />Refer to Paragrah 9 of this page. <br /> <br />Case #3: Henry Hanson Request ToBurn In Pine Forest Area: <br /> <br />Mr. Hanson stated that he has owned a tree farm off of County Road #83 for <br />some 30 years and from time to time burning of diseased and dying trees is <br />required for sanitation reasons. Mr. Hanson further stated that he is a <br />forester and any burning he performs is very controlled and there is a fire <br />line around his property. He also stated that he does have a crew of men <br />at the property and water hoses available when he does burn. Mr. Hanson <br />requested a variance from the burning ban to burn dead and diseased trees <br />during the months that there would be snow on the ground. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated that Mr. Hanson would be knowledgeable as far as burning <br />is concerned and suggested that Mr. Hanson provide the City with a statement <br />of what Mr. Hanson will have available for protection during burning and <br />that he further notify the local Police and Fire Departments and immediate <br />neighbors, whenever burning is planned. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Councilmember Reimann to <br />authorize Mr. Hanson of 2231Folwell, St. Paul, to burn on his property <br />in Ramsey (SW ¼ of NW ¼ of Section 21-32-25), providing he does not violate <br />DNR regulations and that he notifies the Anoka Fire Department and the <br />Ramsey Police Department and that he exercises all the necessary precautions <br />in controlling his burning and that when he completes burning that he <br />notifies the Anoka Fire Department and the Ramsey Police Department that he <br />is completed and that all ashes are covered and the fire is thoroughly <br />extinguished. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Reimann, Sorteberg, <br />Cox and Van Wagner. Voting No-: 'None. <br /> <br />Case #2: Authorization To Purchase C.ity Police Car Through Hennepin County <br /> Purchasing, Request For: <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Van Wagner and seconded by Councilmember Reimann to <br />approve of the City of Ramsey purchasing a 1983 Ford Police Car through the <br />Hennepin County Purchasing Group in the amount of $8,241.78 from Jerry <br />Palmer Southdale Ford. <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Mayor Gamec inquired as to how the price quote through <br />Hennepin County Purchasing Group compared to other dealerships. Police Chief <br />Auspos replied that Elk River Ford quote would have been $1500 higher than <br />that obtained through Hennepin County Purchasing Group. Councilmember Cox <br />stated that it was unfortunate that a local dealership couldn't have gotten <br />the business. Mr. Schnelle replied that local dealers can become members of <br />the Hennepin County Purchasing Group by submitting the necessary paperwork. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox, <br />Van Wagner and Reimann.
