Councilmember Kuzma commended the Planning Commission and the amount of work they <br />have done and continue to do on this matter. <br />Councilmember Williams also appreciated seeing where the City has been and being able to see <br />that scope. She appreciated the efforts of the Planning Commission as they are being asked to <br />review requests under standards of the original town center plans rather than the current plans for <br />The COR. <br />Councilmember Shryock also agreed that it was helpful to see the path the City has taken. She <br />also agreed with Councilmember Riley and stated that the City should focus on the desire for the <br />future and the current market. She noted that although there are certain resident desires for The <br />COR, the market may not drive that type of development in those locations. She referenced the <br />sign regulations and believed that the City is in a good position in that regard and did not know <br />that additional amendment would be necessary in that area. <br />Community Development Director Gladhill explained that they would not be reducing the sign <br />design but instead amending the process for approval. <br />Councilmember Williams stated that she would like to see input from those within The COR as <br />well as Coborn's, specific to the parcel adjacent to their property. <br />Acting Mayor LeTourneau stated that the original plan was flexible in order to be responsive to <br />the conditions in the market, which he believed would continue to be important. He stated that <br />perhaps the previous Councils were not open with amendments to the plan and thought it was <br />great to see the public involvement in this open process. <br />Councilmember Shryock agreed that the communication has been an important focus throughout <br />this process, making this process open and communicating updates to the residents. She <br />welcomed any additional input from residents or businesses. <br />Community Development Director Gladhill confirmed the direction that he heard tonight which <br />will include additions to the document such as highlighting the next steps and highlighting <br />continuing work with property owners within The COR. <br />7.05: Review of Metropolitan Council's Draft 2015 Twin Cities Metropolitan Area Master <br />Water Supply Plan <br />City Engineer Westby reviewed the staff report, provided highlights from the draft 2015 Twin <br />Cities Metropolitan Area Master Water Supply Plan and summarized the response letter drafted <br />by staff. <br />Councilmember Riley suggested tweaking the language to better positon a statement. <br />Acting Mayor LeTourneau agreed that perhaps the challenge and scope of the challenge could be <br />further identified.
