- 2- T.B.7/9/T&

9:10 Blacktopping on Woodland Green: Discussion on blacktoppinE in
this addition. This is one of the first ones to come up under
this new ordinance. It has been 6 to 18 months since this plat
was accepted. Question: Who initiates the blacktopping of the
streets? Who O.K.'s the bids for blacktopping of the streets?
If there aren't enough projects of this kind for the Township to
do this work, then the developer can go ahead on his own to be
checked by our engineer. Should Gary Gotham let these bids?
Does the Town want to include the blacktopping on 153rd with this
project? Mr. Hopperstad moved that Gary Gorham go ahead and get
the bids for the work to be done this fall but not go ahead until
he has the approval of the Town Board. Seconded by Mrs. Oliphant.
Motion carried.

9:17

9:35

9:&O

9:&7

Mr. Fricke explained the feasibility study on 153rd Ave. giving
three different types of treatment for this street. Mr. Fricke
will make three more alternate estimates on 153rd just from No.
~7 east to Roanoke Street.

Engineering fees on sketch plans was discussed because in some
cases plats do not go beyond the sketch plan and we have no deposit
to take care of the fees if the developer does not pay them. He
said the average cost for the sketch plan was $&O0.O0. Our attor-
ney will give us a recommendation on this situation.

Mr. George Atwood from the Historical Society: He is interested
in the preservation of the cementary just east of the airport on
the north side of Highway No. lO. He said this was the first cem-
etary in Anoka County, about 1850. It was the first six acres of
ground that was plowed. The State Historical is making grants for
things of this nature. Mr. Don Greenberg, Mr. C. Gruber, Mr. Wally
Berg and Mr. Ralph Dickenson are also interested in thepreserva-
tion of this cemetary. Mr. Herb Murphy went into this cemetary in
1967 and copied the names of every grave there' There were 18
white settlers and 12 or 15 Indians. In 18~5 a diphtheria epi-
demic was experienced here and many died. Mr. Cornelius Pittman
was a Commissioner in 1871. His wife and two children are buried
there. Mr. Samuel Tilden was one of the firSt settlers to be buried
in this cemetary. Our attorney will check to see whether the Town
owns this cemetary. They will take this up with the Historical
Board. This has to be done by August 12th. Mr. and Mrs. Roger
Dickenson Sr. were present stating that their son, Ralph, is defin-
itely interested in the preservation of this cemetary. This will
be continued at the next meeting.

Lloyd Bearl: He wants to put in a mobile home at their gravel pit
for surveillance purposes but he wants to live in it. Mr. Good-
rich, our attorney stated that this was against our Ordinance No.
73-1 "Regulating Mobile Home Parks and Providing Penalties for
Violations Thereof".

9:55 Mr. Gilbert Menkveld: This was tabled as he was not here.
