or ordinance to the contrary, the Town of Ramsey, in the County
<br />of Anoka, is hereby authorized to increase the membership of its
<br />town board to five members. Sec. 2. (EFFECTIVE DATE.) This act shal
<br />shall take effect only after its approval by the town board of the
<br />town of Ramsey, and upon compliance with the provisions of Minne-
<br />sota Statutes, Section 6~5.021. and S.F.No. 19~$ Chapter No.
<br />586 relating to toy, s in the county of Anoka; conferring certain
<br />village powers; amending Laws 1965, Chapter 157, Section 1. Be
<br />it enacted by the legislature of the State of ~.Minnesota: Section
<br />1. Laws 1963, Chapter 157, Section 1, is amended to read: Sec-
<br />tion 1. (Tovms in Anoka County; Village powers.) The following
<br />towns in Anoka County, namely, Burns, Columbus, Grow, Hma Lake,
<br />Linwood, Oak Grove, and Ramsey, shall have and possess in addition
<br />to ali_ other powers now or hereafter granted said towns, the same
<br />power and the same authority now possessed by villages under the
<br />laws of this state insofar as such powers are enumerated in Minne-
<br />sota Statutes, Section ~12.221, Subdivision 3, 5, 6, 7,~8~ 9, 11,
<br />1~, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 2~, 25, 26,-27, 2~-,' 29, 31,
<br />and 32, also the powers enumerated i~--Minnesota Statutes, Se~-~ions
<br />[~12.111, ~12.191, Subdivision ~, ~12.231, ~12.~91, ~12.$51, ~12.~71,
<br />~29.011 to 529.101, ~65.O1, and ~71.62, as now in force or herein-
<br />after amended. The tovm board and the officers of said to~ shall
<br />have like powers and duties with respect to any of the powers so
<br />specified as the village council and the corresponding officers,
<br />respectively, of any such village. Sec. 2. Notwithstanding any
<br />other provision of any law or ordinance to the contrary, the towns
<br />of Ramsey and Grow, in the county of Anoka are each hereby author-
<br />ized to set the salaries of their clerk, treasurer and assessor,
<br />by resolution of the town board. Sec. 3. This act shall take
<br />effect as to each specific town named herein only after its appro-
<br />val by a majority of the town board of supervisors of such town
<br />and upon compliance with Minnesota Statutes, Section 6~5.O21."

<br />We will have powers with regard to special assessments. We can
<br />grant franchises to Utility companies, etc.

<br />Mr. Tim Peterson was not here about lot in Dunham Oaks Addition.

<br />A & R Development Co.: Woodlavm Estates. Mr. Cherrier, their
<br />surveyor explained the plat to the Board and Mr. Sha asked about
<br />a flood plane area with easements of 20 feet. This plat had been
<br />checked out by our engineers. After thorough discussion Mro Cox
<br />moved we accept this preliminary plat pending the recommendations
<br />of the engineer~ to prevent filling in flood plane area to pond
<br />in Block 3, lots 1, 2, 5, g, 5, 12, 13, 1~. Seconded by Mr. Hop-
<br />perstad. Motion carried.

<br />Mr. Richard Tepley: There are many young children on their road
<br />and they want a speed sign and a "watch out for children" sign.
<br />These signs are needed on 152nd Lane N. W. west of Highway No. 56.
<br />We will ask our highways department to put up these two signs.
<br />
<br />Mr. Guy Walton's job as dog catcher was discussed. Mr. Cox moved
<br />we pay him $3.00 per day in addition to what he is now receiving.
