- 2 - T.B.3-19-73

Mr. Fricke stated he had brought a plat of Hy. #57 on which the
County wants a 1OO foot right-of-way before they will start re-
pairing this street which the garbage trucks going to the land-
fill are tearing up so badly. We have had so many complaints on
the condition of this road. He showed the Board a plan for widening
the street on the east side up to the sharp curve in the road and
then going to the west side on up to Highway #5. Mr. Fricke said
he would check out the various pieces of land with each owner. The
attorney was asked to notify all the people living along this road
and we will have a public hearing on this matter. We will write a
letter to the County informing them that we have started on this
project and that we are in the process of acquiring this right-of-
way. Mr. Cox will check with the County to see if they will do the
surveying. Mr. Hopperstad moved that Mr. Goodrich be given the
authority to take the proper procedures to have this right-of-way
taken care of to be turned over to the County for this road.
Seconded by Mr. Cox. Motion carried.

Mr. Hopperstad moved that Mr. Cox be given the authority to check
with the County SurYeyors and County Engineer to survey this road
for 3~ additional feet right-of-way and if the County cannot do
this survey then Mr. Cox be given the authority to hire Consulting
Engineers Diversified, Inc. to do it. Seconded bM Mr. Cox. Motion
carried.

Mr. Jack Hillstrom wanted a variance to plat one lot between two
houses that he already owns on this piece of land. Mr. Cox recom-
mended this matter be tabled until it is surveyed. Seconded by
Mr. Hopperstad. Motion carried.

Thurston Realty: Bowers Mississippi Acres 3rd Addition. Discus-
sion on the cul de sac, possible extension of the road, and the
difference in the level of the road and the river. Mr. Cox moved
we approve the plat Mississippi Bowers Acres 3rd Addition subject
to the engineer's approval. Mr. Cox withdrew the motion. Mr.
Hopperstad moved this be referred back to the Planning and Zoning
Commission for their study according to the letter received from
Consulting Engineers Diversified Inc. dated March 15, 1973. Mr.
Murphy seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Fire Contracts; Mr. Peterson will have the Anoka and Elk River
fire contracts ready for the next meeting.

Dog Ordinance: Check out free help from the County for Mr. Walton
and try to make a roundup of dogs running around the area unleashed
and unlicensed.

Mr. Cox gave a report of his trip to Washington, D. C. He said
Mr. Jerich had set up an appointment with Mr. Blatnik's office
and went with him on this trip. They talked over the problems
in the Township, such as police protection, the incorporation,
Anoka's annexation activities, trying to take care of about 80
miles of roads without the money we should be getting from other
sources, tax levy limitations, the fact that Ramsey needs a bridge
