-2-
Special Meeting/ Council
eptember 21, 1976
aste Man.agement

Mayor Cox was concerned in regard to their intentions today, that they may for
some reason not materialize after the Anoka contract is finished.

Mr. Otter said commitments we will be making to the City of Ramsey will be formalized
on paper. They will enter into agreement with Ramsey.

Mayor Cox said he could not live with the 2% figure proposed, not knowing where
we stand for completion. We would have to have some understand~ng of the cubic
feet going in and a control on it.

Mr. Otter said they pay a base rental of $4,000 per month to the City of Anoka.

Mayor Cox directed that the City Engineer and City Attorney draft up what the City
of Ramsey wants in the proposal.

Mayor Cox said we have made requests in the past, we have spent two years requesting.
He is fed up with negotiations, letters, meetings, and wants something done now.

At this point we are right back where we were two years ago with the negotiations.
He said it is very irritating to sit back and sit back and not get anything done.
And, Waste Management could walk away from the project anytime.

Waste Management said if the City is concerned about them walking away, they could
enter into a contract with the City.

Mayor Cox asked, why not enter into a contract right away?

Waste Management replied stating that they have not been:.in a bargaining position.
Until last month they have been left out of the picture sitting in limbo.

Mayor Cox agreed that Mr. Otter had a point there.

Mr. Otter asked that consecutive meetings be set up until this matter is put to bed.

Mayor Cox scheduled a meeting for Thursday, September 23, 1976, at 5:00 p.m. with
Engineer Sha and Attorney Goodrich to be in attendance.

Motion by Councilman Reimann, seconded by Councilman Gorham to adjourn the meeting.
Carried 5 Ayes

Meeting adjourned at 11:05 p.m.

Respectfully submi t~ed,

Arlene Peddycoart
Acting Clerk Treasurer
