-4-
Regular Council Meeting
9/27/76

and Ramsey's Economic Development Committee to review alignment of Industry Boulevard
in conjunction with the Industrial zoning and the proposed bridge to cross the Rum River.

Mr. Greenberg is to meet with Mr. Menkveld to discuss obtaining a right of way through
his property for the road.

Mr. Muller announced that the Ramsey Economic Development Committee is meeting tomorrow
evening at his home.

Community School
Mr. Jim Stewart, Director of Community School and Mary Hassett, Assoc. Community School
Coordinator were present.

Mr. Stewart reviewed the alternate Community School programs available.
Mary Hassett discussed the program presently underway at the school. She reported that
a teen board will be starting and meeting each Tuesday night.

Mayor Cox complimented Mary Hassett for the fine job she is doing.
Mayor Cox stated Council should review the programs and make a decision on this at the
next meeting.

Vacation of cul de sac at 155th and Nutria Street N.W.
Mayor Cox expressed concern in regard to the possibility of future resubdivision in
the event sewer should come into this area.

Councilman Gorham also was concerned about future resubdivision should the cul de sac
be vacated.

Engineer Raatikka stated there is a 65 foot radius in the cul de sac and there would
be costs involving the ditch along the road and legal costs.

Attorney Goodrich added that the only legal cost is related to the difficulty in
determining what the legal description will be.

Engineer Raatikka stated the petitioners should pay the cost because it is to their
benefit to vacate the cul de sac and it should be recorded at the City. He is unsure
of the cost involved but just guessing~it will be in the neighborhood of $100 to $150.

Motion by Mayor Cox, seconded by Councilman Gorham to vacate the cud de sac located
6n the intersection of 155th Lane NW and Nutria Street NW, legally described as follows:
Cul de sac is adjacent to Lots 8 and 9, Block 4, Whispering Pines Estates #1. Applicant
agreement is to pay all costs related to vacation of cul de sac including drafting of
the necessary legal, grading and restoration of the specific tract and any other
expenses incurred by the City. The Council in passing this resolution finds that the
vacation is in the best interest as the cul de sac serves no useful purpose. Applicant
may perform the necessary required work to repair the former cul de sac property suitable
to the City requirements which will be reviewed by the City engineer. Should the work
not be performed as required, the City will undertake to do the necessary work and assess
the property owners. Applicants agree to do the work prior to July 1, 1977.
Carried 5 Ayes

Louch's Variance Request
Attorney Goodrich said ,he has talked with Mrs. Riveness and the group she represented.
Mrs. Riveness stated she is not in accord with the motion as reflected by the September
15th minutes.

Discussion took place on the motion.

Motion by Mickelson, seconded by Gorham to rescind the action taken on 8/23/76 as
amended in 9/15/76 minutes and adopt the following motion concerning that matter.
