R~nney ~ variance <br />for property at 8702 181st AvenUe NW, as indicated by p & Z Minutes of !2/6/76. <br /> <br />Councilman Reimann said he seconded the motion with reservation and that the <br />fault actually goes back to Mr. Ranney. He should have laid it out better <br />and obtained more information so he did not run into problems. <br /> <br />McGre~or's On-Sale Liquor ~pPliCation. <br /> <br />Council scheduled a public hearing for January 10 at 7 p.m., for the purpose <br />of considering issuance of a On Sale Intoxicating Liquor license to McGregor's <br />Incorporated. <br /> <br />Letter to DNR or EQC regarding Critical Rivers Act~ <br />Mr. Nereson gave an overview of the r.egulations being imposed on the City by <br />the two State agencies. <br /> <br />Motion by Gorham, seconded by Mickelson to support the DNR proposed law of <br />80,000 square feet as minimum lot size on the Mississippi River. <br /> 4 Ayes <br /> <br />Mr. James Martin said he understands the Metro Council has to review this and <br />then they bump it along to EQC for their final decision. <br /> <br />Staff input in Planning projectiOns. <br />Mr. Nereson gave a report to Council on the status of issuance of burning <br />permits. PCA says they do not have time or staff to process Ramsey's requests <br />and want the City to do it. The City does not have staff to issue burning <br />permits in accordance with their requirements. <br /> <br />Councilman Gotham said the PCA sent a letter previously telling us we could <br />not handle burning permits and would like to answer them by agreeing with <br />their first letter that they should issue the permits. <br /> <br />Mr. Nereson said that the majority of his time is taken up with Metro Council, <br />DNR, EQC, and other agencies that send data that needs review and research. <br />He has had very little time left for handling everyday affairs of the City. <br />He asked for Council direction in this matter. <br /> <br />Council consensus was that he was not hired to attend to Metro Council affairs, etc. <br />He should handle the everyday affairs of the City as top priority and leave <br />Metro Council, EQC, etc., to consultants to handle. <br /> <br />Mayor Cox said Nereson could be a liason between staff persons and the Council. <br /> <br />Administrative Assistant Nereson'S RepOrt <br /> On 11/19/76 the grant application for upgrading Puma was sent to the State. <br /> Approximate total cost - $40,000, City cost $4,000. <br /> <br />On 11/29/76, a response was received back from the Chicago EDA office indicating <br />there were no discrepancies in the application for funding for the municipal <br />center. It is now being reviewed. Mr. Nereson said Mr. Steffen is to be <br />congratulated for a job well done. Council concurred. <br /> <br />On 11/29/76, sent sketch plan of the landfill sliding area, certificate of <br />insurance for approval from Anoka. Anoka will approve contingent to being <br />named on the certificate. This should be accomplished ~ a few days and <br />the hill should be ready for~iding within the next few weeks. <br /> <br /> <br />
