-2- <br /> <br /> Council Meeting <br /> <br />Acting Mayor Gorham stated that Mrs. James has done a tremendous <br />job on the Bicentennial Program and he sincerely regrets to'see <br />Mrs. James resign. He asked Administrator Walker to speak to her <br />about the resignation. <br /> <br />Administrator Walker read a notice of public hearing concerning the <br />petition of Anoka Electric Cooperative of Anoka for authority to <br />change its schedule of rates for retail customers in its service area. <br /> <br />Administrator Walker reported on the court fines collected for the <br />month, amount $608.84. Also, receipt of a tax settlement, amount <br />$37,957.75. <br /> <br />Ordinances and Resolutions. Re: Ordinance No. 74-4 Certificate <br />'of Occupancy. Mr. RoP~'ert Casper, Building Official, reported on <br />the new State law regarding Certificates of Occupancy. He feels <br />requiring these additional inspections is costing the City a lot <br />of money needlessly. He added that as of the 1st of January 1976, <br />no municipality can be more stringent in this respect than the <br />State Building Code. <br /> <br />Acting Mayor Gorham requested that Attorney Goodrich check on this <br />new law and report his findings to the Council at the next meeting. <br /> <br />Reports of Officers, Boards and Commissions. Administrator Walker <br />'~epo~ted on the Build'~ng Committ'ee meeting and tour of Andover and <br />Maple Grove municipal facilities, adding that no firm action is <br />requested at this time. The Building Committee is still in the <br />process of looking at buildings and plans. <br /> <br />Acting Mayor Gorham asked if the Building Committee is in agreement <br />that the City should have a new municipal center. <br />Administrator Walker replied that the Committee is in agreement that <br />with the present structure we are occupying, we do need something. <br />Mr. Schutts, member of the Building Committee, added that the Building <br />Committee members concur that the City should have a new municipal <br />building. <br /> <br />Public Safety Report. Chief Auspos read the November police report. <br />The police patrolled 269 hours over the past month with the reserves <br />putting in additional 18~ hours. He announced that on January 14, 1976, <br />a meeting will be held at Ramsey School for the crime watch program. <br /> <br />Chief Aus~os said he is seeking Council authorization to purchase <br />a handi talkie for the police for a price of $450 from Circle Pines <br />Police Department. <br />Administrator Walker added that this piece of equipment is a great <br />lifesaver for the police department when they run into situations out <br />of the car. <br /> <br />8:55 p.m., Mayor Cox arrived. <br /> <br /> <br />
