Oliphant gave the report on the <br />Planning & Zoning minute~. <br />153rd Avenue Improvement Project; Mr. Steffen feels the issue <br />~f the' alignment on this road should be referred to legal council. <br /> <br />Mrs. Jean James: Cemetary just north of Highway lO is very much <br />overgrown. She put in stakes to mark the stones so if the brush <br />cutter comes in, he would know where the gravestones are located. <br />Mr. Greenberg has asked for permission to cut the tallest trees <br />in the cemetary because they are a hazard for planes landing at <br />the adjacent airport. The roots of the trees have come up through <br />the graves. She thinks if the cemetar¥~.is cleaned out a little <br />that there would be less vandalism. The Historical Society has no <br />objection to cutting the tallest trees. She would like approval <br />or disapproval to cutting these trees. She was asked how many trees <br />they wanted to cut. Mrs. James said there would still be a lot of <br />trees left. In taking the trees out, they would remove the entire <br />tree. This cemetary was deeded to the Township in 1905. <br /> <br />The Park report was [ivenby ~ir. Reimann. <br />report is in the city's files. <br /> <br />A written copy of this <br /> <br />Er. Cox wants a report from Mr. Bacon. The Council wants to review <br />his activities to see if there is need for more remuneration° <br /> <br />The Build%ng Inspecto~will have a detailed report for the next <br />meeting. There have been seven houses moved into the city without <br />occupancy permits. <br /> <br />Atto.r~.ey'$ Report~ 153rd Improvement Project: Mr. Mickelson moved <br />whereas a resolution of the City Council adopted the 23rd day of <br />June 1975 fixed a date for a Council hearing on the proposed im- <br />provement of 153rd Avenue Northwest from CSAH #5 to approximately <br />450 feet east of the center line of State Highway #47 and whereas <br />ten days published notices of the hearing through two weekly pub- <br />lications of the required notices was given, the_hearing was held <br />thereon on the 28th day of July 1975, at which~l persons desiring <br />to be heard were given an opportunity to be he~rd thereon, now <br />therefore be it resolved by the Council of the City of Ramsey, <br />Minnesota (1) such improvement is hereby ordered as is prqposed <br />by Council resolution adopted the 28th day of July 1975 (2) Consult- <br />ing Engineers Diversified, Inc. is hereby designated as the engineer <br />for this improvement and that company shall prepare plans and speci- <br />fications for the making of such improvement. Seconded by Mr. Reimann. <br />Mr. Cox, Mr. Gorham, Mr. Reimann and Hr. Mickelson voted yes. Mrs. <br />Oliphant abstained because she didn't attend the public hearing. <br /> <br />Road Alignment on Industry Ave.: Mr. Sha didn't know if this could <br />be a special assessment project. He said he would need to check <br />with State Aid. For any further expenditure he is to come back to <br />the Council for its action.
