- 2-: ¢6/9/7~

Hr. Mickelson report, ed 9n the Highway Committee, On 153rd, the
'cost for gravel is $55,650, paved rural_sectionlis$95,&32.50 and
paved urban_section is $13~635.OO. Assessment,Costs.had been

determined. Under,SA funding both phase.land phase 2will have
to be completed before we can work on another street unless we can
get a variance from the State Engineer.~ Total length.of roadway
between 5 and ~7 is 3,701 feet. It would.be.a 9. ton road. Next
step is accepting.the feasibility report andthen a~public hearing
and either going.ahead or turning'it down. We wotuld.~henhave to
have a bond sale:for the amount being assessed. We would,, have to
acquire the right of wa~ and get' bids. We could lay this over
until the 17th meeting with.the engineer and haveit,':brought back

to the meeting on June 23rd- This will be. referred back to the
committee and broughtback to.the next.meeting.

What are the possibilities'of oilin~:.Variolite St..? We would have
to buy gl~%el for this. We will get a price, on. Class V, which
would be two quotations~ if the purchase is.tmder $5,000 andformal
bidding., if over $5~OOO.

.Unstable ¢~dition on 16&th.Lane, in Barthel. Additi°n. Water is
standing on the south:side of A7. First buildingpermi~:was issued
July 2, 1975. This will have.to be fixed, or the bondwillnot be
release~, If there are any questions as to what needs: to be done,
the engineer should be con, acted. The Clerk waSinstructed to
write a letter to Barthels. advising.them~that~theirmaintenance
bond will not be released until this road is adequately repaired.

Question of standing.water on 151st and Rhines~oneSt. Road runs
thru part of. a swamp area. If these people on the ro&d filled

their lot, then we could.fill the ditch. This is actually a pond-
lng area.

153rd ~.d Xenon S~ This pr°blem_could be eliminated by building
the road. The County isworking-onSunftsh. Lake:Blvd. now.
e Council aske~Hr. Reimann.to seeif any of the~ trees on this

road could be salvaged.

The Police Committee has selected 12 members for the, police re-
serves. Question: At what point, should the
Council confirm this group.

Fire Equipment: Mr. Oberstar had, mentioned that there were second
hand fire Vehicles: that could be purchased very. reasonably. There
is federal money available.to go ahead:to' support thiaprogram.
The chairman of the committee is writing for further.information
on this question.

Anoka County Civil DefenseDirectorWill send out some,informa-
tion. First we have to develop a Civil Defense Program, Then
we would be available for federal, funding, Cost of a siren would
be on a 50-50 basis.
