Council Busiuess <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the regular City Council meeting back to order at 7:18 p.m. <br /> <br />Councihncmber Strommen questioned what would occur if fewer than four parcels were to be <br />afb'coted, as outlined in Subdivision 3, Initiation of Proceedings. She suggested this be changed <br />to a percentage of property owners. <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich suggested a percentage of 35 percent. <br /> <br />Motion by Councihnember Strommen, seconded by Councilmember Pearson, to introduce the <br />Official Map Ordinance, with the change in Subdivision 3, Initiation of Proceedings to state <br />"...(2)action by the City Council on its own initiative, recommendation of an advisory <br />commission, request of an outside governmental body, or petition of 35% of the owners of <br />affected property." <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Strommen, Pearson, Elvig, and <br />Zinamcrman. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Cook. Abstaining: Councilmember <br />Kurak. <br /> <br />Public Hearing - Introduce Ordinance to Rezone properties to Official Map <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Associate Planner Wald stated an AUAR has been completed and the City is in the position to <br />officially map this corridor. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec closed the regular portion of the City Council at 7:20 p.m. in order to conduct a <br />public hearing. <br /> <br />Public Hearing <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the public hearing to order at 7:20 p.m. <br /> <br />Citizen Input <br /> <br />Ed Hamilton, 6615 Highway 10 NW, stated he is not happy with the rezoning, but he knoxvs he <br />cannot stop it. fte questioned why another adult bookstore is included in this zoning. <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich explained from a legal sense the courts will not allow the City to <br />eliminate those types of uses. He and the Council do not agree with this, but it is the law. <br /> <br />Mr. Hamilton presented the Council with an item that he, his wife, and his grandson found up <br />when they were picking up the area.
