Mayor Gamec explained the Council agrees with Mr. Hamiloton but under the law these uses are <br />permitted, and Mr. Hamilton will need to lobby Washington. <br /> <br />Councilmelnbcr Elvig commented the Council had the same concerns as Mr. Hamilton. They <br />included extra language in the restrictions of architectural standards in hopes that the building <br />would become too expensive to build. There is no way to ordinance against this type of use, and <br />the Council did whatever they could from their perspective. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Pearson, seconded by Councilmember Elvig, to close the public <br />hearing. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Pearson, Elvig, Strommen, and <br />Zimmerman. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Cook. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Elvig, Strommen, Pearson, and <br />Zimmerman. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Cook. Abstaining: Councilmember <br />Kurak. <br /> <br />Motion by Councihnember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Pearson, to introduce an <br />ordinance to rezone properties to Official Map. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Abstaining: Councilmember <br />Kurak. <br /> <br />Memorandum of Understanding <br /> <br />Associate Planner Wald explained the City, MnDot, and Anoka County have partnered together <br />to combine resources, provide better solutions for the Highway 10 corridor, and to coordinate <br />responsibilities among the parties. The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) provides a <br />chronological order of the events that have occurred up until this point and outlines what the <br />responsibilities are of each partnering agency.
