Parks and Utilities Supervisor Riverblood responded no parking spaces were planned in <br />Riverdale Park; however, a consideration could be made to share the overflow parking area of the <br />townhome plat on the north side of Riverdale Drive if affirmed in the Development Agreement. <br /> <br />Commissioner Pontius noted the calculations were based on 195 units. <br /> <br />Civil Engineer II Linton responded the calculations would coincide with what was actually <br />platted. The cash dedication would reflect the current rates in effect at the time of platting. <br /> <br />Parks and Utilities Supervisor Riverblood suggested the Commission might wish to reaommend <br />that staff pursue shared parking that would serve the townhomes and also Riverdale Park. <br /> <br />Chairperson Johns indicated parking for the ball park was tight and there would not be much <br />available parking if used for a game. <br /> <br />Commissioner Olds asked if street parking was available. <br /> <br />Principal City Engineer Olson responded the street was wide enough for parking. <br /> <br />Principal City Engineer Olson asked if street parking spaces would be available off Riverdale <br />Drive. <br /> <br />Parks and Utilities Supervisor Riverblood responded typically parking spaces were identified that <br />were not associated with specific units and it would make sense if the spaces could be near <br />Riverdale Park. <br /> <br />Chairperson Johns asked if designated spaces needed to be identified. <br /> <br />Parks and Utilities Supervisor Riverblood responded they could be identified if it would be of <br />mutual benefit to both entities. <br /> <br />Chairperson Johns suggested it would be nice to have approximately 20 parking spaces; <br />therefore, if parking was allowed along Riverdale, maybe another 10 spaces could be designated <br />in the townhome site. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Shryock, seconded by Commissioner Olds, to approve staff;s pursuit <br />of the option of shared parking between Riverdale Park and the townhome development. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Johns, Commissioners Shryock, Olds, LaMere, <br />Lehman, and Pontius. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioner Ostrum. <br /> <br />Chairperson Johns stated she could not think of any additional consideration needed regarding <br />the park and trail dedication. She asked if there were any suggestions that needed to be made. <br /> <br />Parks and Utilities Supervisor Riverblood responded the improvements for Riverdale Park were <br />minimal and should be considered as the stage one improvement and the other monies should be <br /> <br />Park and Recreation Commission/April 8, 2004 <br /> Page '7 of 21 <br /> <br /> <br />
