Ms. Diane Lamby, 7047 - 159th Lane N.W., asked if the driveways would be <br />blacktopped. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec said that the driveways would be blacktopped one foot from the <br />road if they connected to the street. <br /> <br />Mr. Steve Tolbert, 7001 - 159th Lane N.W., stated he was against the project. <br /> <br />Mr. Chester Prior, 6945 - 158th Lane N.W., asked if the residents were going to <br />vote as a group on the project. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec told Mr. Prior that the vote would be taken by show of hands. <br /> <br />Mr. Duane Erlien, 7108 - 159th Lane N.W., said he knew several people who did <br />sign the petition who were not present and he asked if their votes would be <br />counted. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec told Mr. Erlien that the vote would go by those present <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich stated a 4/5 vote by the City Council can go against a "no" <br />vote by the people present. <br /> <br />Mr. Erlien asked if a person's vote would be considered if he/she signed a petition and <br />did not make the meeting. <br /> <br />Councilman Cox said when a petition is signed for a project to be done, it is <br />telling me those signing want to know about the project because the people don't <br />have the facts at that time. There have been many petitions which have mis- <br />informed the people so a petition can't be used as a criteria. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec said people want to know the cost of the project to them. <br /> <br />Ms. Debbie Erlien, 7108 - 159th Lane N.W., asked if the Council was making their <br />decision tonight or could the people who couldn't be present call tomorrow. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec told Ms. Erlien that the Council would be making a decision tonight <br />and if the project is approved tonight, it would be done. <br /> <br />14 residents voted. 8 voted in favor and 6 opposed the project. <br /> <br />Motion by Reimann and seconded by Councilman Cox close~ the public hearing. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes-Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Sorteberg, Reimann <br />and Cox. Voting no-None. <br /> <br />Board of Adjustment Meeting regarding John R. Tousley request for variance <br />for an accessory building. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Cox and seconded by Mayor Gamec to appoint Councilman <br />Reimann Chairman of the Board of Adjustment Meeting. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
