Councilman Reimann said Mr. Nugent is in violation of the existing ordinance. <br /> <br />City Administrator Schnelle said the council can't change the law for this case <br />and he didn't think laws can be changed that way. <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich said he could get Mr. Nugent's neighbors together <br />and get an agreement with them. He asked if he should tell Mr. Nugent to get <br />rid of his pigs. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec said to tell Mr. Nugent to get rid of his pig and also to mention <br />the feedlot restriction of 300' from the property line. <br /> <br />City Administrator Schnelle noted the city has another feedlot pig operation <br />in the city which is adjacent to the Ramsey Terrace Park and he served notice <br />on the operator that he must cease the operation by July 8, 1980. <br /> <br />City Administrator Report <br /> <br />City Administrator Schnelle said the next legislative session is a real <br />critical one regarding State tax laws regarding the appraisal field. <br /> <br />Councilman Sorteberg said the council needs some background information on this. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Cox and seconded by Councilman Sorteberg to direct <br />City Staff to schedule a meeting with those parties who would be involved in <br />future taxation in the municipality in regards to the State tax laws regarding <br />the appraisal field. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes-Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Sorteberg, Reimann, <br />Mickelson and Cox. Voting no-None. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec informed the council that there will be a meeting the 1st Thursday <br />in August to appoint a committee for an in-depth study in looking at changes <br />in the State Aid Formula which will be proposing legislation. He said it is <br />going to take about a year to change. He said he would run off all the literature <br />on the matter and send it to all the councilmen. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec noted the City Engineer's Report on street improvement projects. <br />He asked if most of the projects were cleared up now. <br /> <br />City Engineer Raatikka said the street improvement projects were cleared~up <br />as far as last year's. <br /> <br />COUNCIL OLD BUSINESS <br /> <br />1) 177th Avenue N.W., 178th Lane N.W., 179th Avenue N.W., Salish Circle, <br /> <br />Tonto Street N.W., Yakima Street N.W. for Street Improvement <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec asked if the hill could be cut down there. <br /> <br />City Engineer Raatikka said the hill could be cut down a little. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec noted the major problem was the extension of Yakima Street at 179th. <br /> <br />C/June 24, 1980 <br /> Page 4 <br /> <br /> <br />
