Mayor Gamec said it is the homeowner's responsibility to extend existing <br />bituminous or concrete driveways to match the street. The contractors don't <br />do this. However, a person should not run cement out to the end of the driveway. <br /> <br />Mr. Olaf Olson, 6334 - 153rd Lane~N.W. <br /> <br />Mr. Olson said he has a cement driveway. He asked if it would be okay ff he were <br />to put cement in there because it would be cheaper for him. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec said the city ordinance says "no". <br /> <br />Mr. Reiter asked if the culvert or the corner was part of the project. <br /> <br />City Engineer Raatikka said culverts and corners were part of the project. <br /> <br />Mr. Scott Stlckels, 6460 - 153rd Lane N.W. <br /> <br />Mr. Stickels said there is a pool of water on 153rd. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec said the city is very aware of the problem. He said these areas <br />are being marked on the map and the city is trying to solve the problem <br />this year. <br /> <br />A resident from the end of 153rd said they had horses and asked how a person <br />can ride a horse on blacktop, and how many feet from the road is considered <br />ditch. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec said people are riding horses in the ditches. As the city grows, <br />it discourages horses. There is no ordinance on horses as the city is trying <br />to stay away from this type of ordinance. A ditch is approximately 10 from <br />the edge. <br /> <br />Mr. Greg Austin, 6738 - 153rd Lane N.W. <br /> <br />Mr. Austin asked if there was going to be any kind of turnaround there. <br /> <br />City Engineer Raatikka said there would be a 66' turnaround. <br /> <br />Mr. Austin asked who would have to pay if the blacktop is ruined where <br />the puddle is. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec said the road is bonded for one yr. for maintenance and the <br />developer would have to restore it. <br /> <br />Mr. Austin asked if it has already been decided that blacktopping is going in. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec said the council can't make a decision on that until after the <br />public hearing. <br /> <br />Mr. Stickels asked how soon the blacktop would be put in if the project did <br />go through. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec said this fall, except for restoration, which will be in the spring. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING <br />Septen~er 16, 1980 <br /> Page 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
