City Administrator Schnelle said there would be two meetings per week <br />and the person who starts should stay with it. They will be asking <br />for decisions. <br /> <br />Councilman Cox noted that Councilman Sorteberg didn't know what the <br />council wants right now. <br /> <br />City Administrator Schnelle sa±d he is going to have to have the authority <br />to make policy decisions. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec recommended having Councilman Sorteberg go to the meetings <br />and keep in contact with the City Administrator for the time being. <br /> <br />Councilman Cox suggested splitting up the load between Councilman Sorteberg <br />and Councilman Mickelson. <br /> <br />City Administrator Schnelle said that whoever goes will have to keep up <br />on things as they will be working for the whole county. <br /> <br />Co~mcilman Cox noted that the City is not in a position to hire someone <br />to take care of this issue. <br /> <br />City Administrator Schnelle said the City is going to have to come up <br />with plans to fit in with their guidelines. He said he told them today <br />that the City Council was concerned that small communities would be left <br />holding the bag. <br /> <br />Councilman Sorteberg suggested waiting another week and seeing how they <br />are going to proceed. <br /> <br />Councilman Cox said the businesses in Ramsey are closing up left and right. <br /> <br />ADDENDUM TO NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />1. Letter from Senator Boschwitz <br /> <br />The letter from Senator Boschwitz regarding his office involvement in <br />government grants was reviewed. <br /> <br />2. Directory Signs <br /> <br />Councilman Cox said the City would be liable for the initial structure. He <br />asked i~ "Ramsey Industrial District and Ramsey Business District" should <br />be on the signs. He said a motion was needed to authorize the City to <br />spend the monies for the directory signs and they should be built this <br />fall. They are 2' × 12' with plastic lettering. <br /> <br />City A~ninistrator Schnelle said a variance is needed to put up these signs. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Reimann and seconded by Councilman Mickelson to adopt <br />resolw6ion #80-143b authorizing the expenditure of $2,000 for the.frame <br />structure for business directory signing; the location of the signs to be on <br />Highway #47 & Industry Blvd., County #56 & Highway #10 and Comaty #57 and <br />Highway #10; Planning and Zoning Commission is to give Council their input <br />regarding these signs. <br /> <br /> SPECIAL COUNCIL <br />October 15, 1980 <br /> Page 5 <br /> <br /> <br />
