Mayor Gamec adjourned the regular meeting and called the public hearing <br />to order for Bowers Drive Street Improvement Project #81-3. <br /> <br /> PUBLIC HEARING <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />A public hearing was called to order by Mayor Gamec regarding the Bowers <br />Drive Street Improvement Project #81-3 at the Ramsey Municipal Center, <br />15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec <br />Councilmember Van Wagner <br />Councilmember Sorteberg <br />Councilmember Reimann <br />Councilmember Cox <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator Schnelle <br />City Engineer Pete Raatikka <br /> <br />A presentation was made by City Engineer Raatikka regarding this project. <br /> <br />A resident of 14810 Bowers Drive asked why one end would pay more than the <br />other end. <br /> <br />Engineer Raatikka stated the first addition doesn't have drainage - that <br />when residents in the 2nd and 3rd addition moved in they paid for their <br />drainage. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec took a straw vote of the residents from the area of Bowers Drive <br />to see how many were in favor or against the proposed project. There were <br />21 yes votes and 23 no votes. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Van Wagner and seconded by Councilmember Reimann to <br /> close the public hearing on Bowers Drive Street Improject Project #81-3. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Van Wagner, Sorteberg, <br />Reimann and Cox. Voting no None. <br /> <br />The public hearing was adjourned. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the regular Council meeting to order as Council stated <br />they wanted to act on the public hearing for Bowers Mississippi Acres, <br />Bowers Mississippi Acres 2nd and 3rd Addition for street improvement. <br /> <br />CASE #4: BOWERS MISSISSIPPI ACRES, BOWERS MISSISSIPPI ACRES 2ND AND 3RD <br /> <br />ADDITION STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT: <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Reimann and seconded by Councilmember Cox to cancel <br />out Street Improvement Project #81-3 (Bowers Mississippi Acres, Bowers <br />Mississippi Acres 2nd and 3rd Addition) based on the fact that a majority <br />of the citizens present at the public hearing did not desire the project. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Van Wagner, Sorteberg, <br />Reimann and Cox. Voting no None. <br /> <br />C/July 28, 1981 <br />Page 4 <br /> <br /> <br />
