Regular Council <br />Page 2 <br />February 26, 1979 <br /> <br />a conditional use permit for Faith Baptist Church. They are saying the City <br />won't let them build as they propose and they feel they should build as they <br />want. <br /> <br />The Council asked City Attorney Goodrich if there was anything to comment on <br />the Holker lawsuit. City Attorney Goodrich stated the judge had said it was <br />a complicated issue and wanted comments from both sides. Tom Holker has until <br />mid-March to respond then Attorney Goodrich will be responding. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated he had received a letter from the Mayor in Roseau. The <br />mayor of Roseau was asking the City of Ramsey's support in having the D.N.R. <br />delete the one-foot additional freeboard presently required by the Commissioner <br />of 'the D.N.R.'s rules and regulations. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Cox and seconded by Councilman Mickelson to have City Staff <br />Mayor Gamec and Councilman Cox prepare a resolution supporting the City of Roseau <br />in having the D.N.R. delete the one-foot additional freeboard presently required <br />by the Commissioner of the D.N.R.'s rules and regulations and which the City of <br />Ramsey feels is usurping the taxpayers dollars to no end.: ~ <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Reimann, Mickelson and Cox. <br />Voting no None. <br /> <br />It was noted a letter from Governor A1 Quie had been received in regards to a <br />Conference of Natural Disasters to be held on March 9, 1979. <br /> <br />It was noted also the Equipment Review Committee set up by the Council consist- <br />ing of Councilman Miekelson, Street Superintendent Merle Mevissen and City <br />Administrator Schnelle to review the City's equipment in regards to actual <br />needs should have a deadline of March 26, 1979. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec reported on the skating rinks at the Ramsey Elementary School in <br />regards to their present condition. He noted they were in a very bad condition <br />after the rain we had had a few days prior and would take too long to get back <br />in shape before it would start the spring thaw. He also stated he had declared <br />the rinks officially closed for the season and and that this had been an ex- <br />cellent year for the rinks. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF COUNCIL MINUTES <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Reimann and seconded by Councilman Mickelson to approve the <br />minutes of the regular Council meeting of February 12, 1979 with the following <br />additions and corrections: <br /> <br />Page 3 second paragraph third line under Letters and Communications should <br />read: <br />"another serious accident just two weeks prior. It was noted the State" <br /> <br />Page 6 Motion for Resolution #79-6 it should be noted this is a resolution <br />regarding Greenberg's. <br /> <br />Page 6 Motion for Resolution #79-~it should be noted this is a resolution <br />regarding Grosslein Beverage. <br /> <br /> <br />
