PAGE 9 <br />MAY 29, 1979 <br />REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING <br /> <br />ADOPTION OF RESOLUTIONS FOR'STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT 162ND LANE N.W., <br /> <br />JASPAR STREET ETC. <br /> <br />As a result of a valid petition from 85 percent of the residential owners <br />and a duly held public hearing this date, the following Council action was <br />taken. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Cox, seconded by Councilman Reimann that a new feasibility <br />study be prepared by the City Engineer for the rest of the area and calling for a <br />public hearing to be held June 12, 1979 and adopting Resolution No. 44 which <br />is a Resolution Ordering Preparation of Report on Street Improvement and <br />Resolution No. 45 which is a Resolution Calling for Hearing on Street Improvement. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Cox, Mickelson, Reimann <br />and Sorteberg. Voting no: None. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION: <br /> <br />Cou~cilman Cox stated he favors having the rest of the streets improved. This <br />may alleviate any problems of possible additional assessment on certain properties <br />and if the whole area is dons' under one~ project the cost would be less expensive. <br /> <br />Councilman Mickelson stated that this project should proceed as it is and if the <br />other area shows a desire for street improvement it can be added on later. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec said if they.could come in with a petition for the rest of the area <br />within 10 days it could be added to the present project. <br /> <br />The remaining area involved'is: Quartz Street N.W. from 163rd Lane N.W. to <br />166th Avenue N.W., Olivine Street N.W. from 161st Lane N.W. to 164th Lane N.W., <br />Marble Street from 161st Lane-N.W. to 164th A~enue, Kamacite Street from 161st <br />Lane N.W0 to 163rd Avenue N.W., Jaspar Street from 163rd Avenue to 167th Avenue, <br />161st Lane N.W. from Olivine to Kamacite, 162nd Lane east of Olivine Street in <br />the northeast quarter of Section 16, TownshiP 32 north, Range 25 west, 163rd <br />Avenue from Olivine Street to Jaspar Street, 163rd Lane N.W. from Quartz <br />street to Olivine Street, 164th Avenue east of Quartz in the north east quarter <br />of the northeast quarter of Section 16, Township 32 north, Range 25 west and <br />from Marble Street to Jaspar Street, 164th Lane from Quartz to Olivine, 166th <br />Avenue from Quartz to Jaspar N.W. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Cox, seconded by Councilman Mickelson to proceed with the <br />project as presented and adopt Resolution No. 79-39 Ordering Plans and Specifications. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Cox, Mickelson, Reimann and <br />Sorteberg. Voting no: None. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman ~eimann and seconded by Councilman Mickelson to adopt <br />Resolution No. 79-40 to Advertise for Bids with the bid opening to be held on <br />July 20, 1979 at 10:00 A.M. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Cox, Mickelson, Reimann <br />and Sorteberg. Voting no: None. <br /> <br />VERA MCGREGOR REGARDING INDUSTRIALs'REVENUE BONDSFOR OFF-SALE LIQUOR STORE <br /> <br />Mrs. McGregor appeared before Council with Mr. Jack Prill of Mortgage Assoc.(bond cons.) <br />Motion by Councilman Reimann and seconded by Councilman Mickelson to adopt Res. No.79-42 <br />giving preliminary approval to a project under the Munic. Industrial Devel. Act; <br />referring the proposal to the Comm. of Securities for Approval and authorizing <br />execution of a "Memorandum of Agreement" & preparation of the necessary documents. <br /> <br /> <br />
