Councilman Cox said that he did not feel the City should waste anyone's <br />time on this project, people who live there do not want it, tell the <br />DNR to go somewhere else with their proposal and that ~he City doesn't <br />want their setup down there. <br /> <br />TUNGSTEN AND FRONT STREET STORM SEWER IMPROVEMENT PROJECT <br /> <br />Engineer Raatikka recommended that the bid be awarded to Forest Lake <br />Contracting because they are the iow bidder and he has worked successfully <br />with them in the past. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Cox and seconded by Councilman Reimann to award <br />the bid to Forest Lake Contracting for Improvement Project 79-10 and <br />adopting Resolution No. 79-55 entitled "Accepting Bid". (See Resolution <br />File) <br /> <br />The following bids were received: <br /> <br />Contractor <br /> <br />AmOL~lt <br /> <br />Forest Lake Contracting <br />Dawson Construction <br />Kirkwood Construction Co. <br />Sam-Con Corporation <br />Wal hunt Construction <br />Burchvi 11 e Construct ion <br /> <br />$41,935.00 <br /> 49,790.00 <br /> 42,625.00 <br /> 69,240.00 <br /> 50,395.00 <br /> 48,994.00 <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Cox, Reimann, <br />and Sorteberg. Voting no: None. Absent: Councilman Mickelson. <br /> <br />REZONING FROM UMB-2 TO UB AND UMB; CASE OF BILL AYDT <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec read a letter from Anoka County Highway Department regarding . <br />access to CSAH 5. He read permitted uses under UMB and lib of the City Code. <br /> <br />Councilman Reimann said he did not want to see any eating or drinking <br />establishments next to the school. <br /> <br />Councilman Cox said something could be written up in contract form <br />that Mr. Aydt could have UMB zoning and a "conditional use" for the <br />body shop. <br /> <br />Mr. Aydt questioned what would be wrong with zoning his property UB <br />Business. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec said because anything permitted under LIB would be allowable <br />and Council is concerned about intensifying traffic etc. <br /> <br />Councilman Cox said that Mr. Aydt wanted assurance to see that he could operate or <br />expand his existing business and that it would be marketable as such a <br />business. <br /> <br />Attorney Goodrich suggested a UMB zoning with a conditional use that could <br />be transferable. <br /> <br />Regular Council Meet~ing <br /> August 27, 1979 <br /> Page l2 <br /> <br /> <br />
