Regular Council Meeting
Page 4
2/14/77

It was explained that the maintenance department has not been able to clear
the area due to the low water table. They can get their equipment onto
the lake but cannot get out again and therefore they were not able to scrap
the ice this winter.

Councilman Gorham stated he is in favor of changing the membership of the
Park Commission to a Chairman and six members. He said Planning & Zoning
operates very effectively with seven members and with the large turnover
on the Park Commission, the Commissioners felt that the scope and amount
of items talked about at meetings, with too many members makes it hard
for them to be a part of the discussions.

Motion by Gorham, Seconded by Mickelson to adopt Ordinance 77-3, Section
7, Subdivision 7 concerning compensation, stating that Commissioners shall
serve with compensation of $60 per year-payment to be made at years end
provided members attend at least nine regular Park Commission meetings
per year and the secretary receives $120 per year.

Mayor Cox feels there will be a problem with this on a years basis.
It would be administratively cumbersome to keep track of members attendance
etc.

Council~aan Gotham withdrew his Motion. He agrees that not many areas in
the seven county area are paying their Park Commission.

Councilman Mickelson withdrew his Second.

The matter was tabled until Mr. Nereson can check with other communities
on compensation for Park members.

This item to be on Agenda for next meeting.

Bill for Dennis Leikvold.

Attorney Goodrich recommends payment of $250 for trees to be paid to Mr.
Leikvold.

Motion by Reimann, Seconded by Gorham to pay Dennis Leikvold $250 for trees
that were removed in the process of Project 75-1.

Mr. Nereson said this bill will be submitted to MN State Aid for refund.

New Business

Mr. Duke Carlson spoke on plans for the upcominq air show to be held July 30
and 31. He asked permission to use the City snow fence to enclose County
56 and 57 1/2 hour prior to the jet team for crowd control reasons.

Mayor Cox complimented Anoka Aero and the Rangers for the fine job they have
done in the past.

Motion by Gorham, Seconded by Reimann authorizing a permit be given to
~arlson for the Anoka Aero air show to be held at the airstrip on
July 30 and 31 and the use of City snow fence upon receipt of $100 deposit
which will be refunded uoon return of the fence in good condition.

5 Aye..

5 Ayes
