Regular Meeting
February 13, 1978
Page Three

Councilman Garnet said that he feels it is not adviseable to p~t a church
on commercial property, because of the tax structure.

Councilman Mickelson said that although Ramsey would lose tax base he would
still rather see the church in the commercial area than in a residential area.
He said he could see no real traffic problem.

MOTION by Gamec, seconded by Reimann to table any action regarding this
situation until the Februar2 27th meeting.

4 Ayes

Consider Mike Compton variance request

It was noted that the variance request should be in Bertha Mae Johnston's
name and not Mike Compton as it is her propertY.

MOTION by Mickelson, seconded by Reimann to grant a variance to Bertha Mae
Smith Johnston to subdivide a tract of land in the SE quarter of the SW
quarter of the SW quarter of Section 10 subject to a 66 foot easement
running north to south along the east property line and a 40 foot ease-
ment along the north property line and further that future development
for the forty acre parcel known as parcel ~5400, plat 89210 will be subject
to additional access prior to substantial subdividing. It is further under-
stood that the present access as provided would constitute an inappropriate
cul-de-sac in violation of Ordinance 75-5. It is further understood that
the City in no way encumbers itself to development of the 66 foot easement
so taken on the east property line. It is also subject to park dedication,
either ,$100.00 or 10 per cent of the value of the land, whichever is greater.
4 Ayes

5. Consider DeZiel subdivision request

MOTION by Nickelson, seconded by Reimann to grant subdivision by metes
and bounds of Parcel 1200, Plat 8923~ into two parcels as described on
Certificate of Survey subject to payment of park dedication fee. Ease-
ment along the north lot line for future 66' service road, that if pro-
posed future service road is called for on the south lot line rather than
the north, the easement rights on the north will be vacated by the City.

4 Ayes

MOTION by Mickelson, seconded by Reimann to grant variance for the deficient
lot size and the undersized width. 4 Ayes

6. Consider Netting home-occupation permit

NOTION by Reimann, seconded by Gamec to table this home occupation permit
for business until the recommendations from Planning and Zoning come back
and it can be discussed at the April 10th meeting.

Ayes
