Approval of Ordinance #78-3 <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Mickelson, seconded by Councilman Muller to adopt <br />Ordinance 78-3, "An Ordinance Amending Chapter 130.01, Entitled Business <br />and Trade Licenses and Specifically Amending Section 130.011, Entitled Fees <br />of said Chapter." <br /> <br />5 Ayes <br /> <br />7. Tri-City Fire Protection. <br /> <br />Councilman Reimann announced the next meeting of the Tri-City Fire Protection <br />Committee will be held on June 29th at 7:30 p.m., at Ramsay City Hall, at <br />which time the Committee intends to get to the actual question of what each <br />of the cities feel they need so they know which direction to pursue as far <br />as fire protection is concerned. <br /> <br />Councilman Gamec said he feels the City should have a truck on this side o£ <br />the railroad tracks. He also suggests that the City obtain a cost comparison <br />between contracting with another City and the City's own volunteer department. <br /> <br />Councilman Mickelson said he feels as the City grows there will be a need for <br />the City to have its own fire department. <br /> <br />Councilman Reimann commented that there nmst be some consideration given to <br />the fire department volunteers. Where will the City get them and will there <br />be a sufficient amount to man the fire station. <br /> <br />Councilman Mickelson is to confer with East Bethel Fire Department for <br />information of a volunteer fire department operation. <br /> <br />BUS INF~ S <br /> <br />1. Petitions for local improvement. <br /> <br />Mr. Robert Carson, Whispering Pines Estates Area, said the petition for <br />blacktopping roads in Whispering Pines Plat represents 63 percent of the <br />people in the area. He said he feels there is interest in street improve- <br />ments. <br /> <br />Mayor Cox said there should be an informal public hearing held before <br />ordering a feasibility study to answer questions and inform all affected <br />property owners of the facts before the City spends money on a feasibility <br />study. <br /> <br />Howard Carson said he explained to the people that sewer wasn't projected <br />until after the 1990 area is serviced. <br /> <br />Mayor Cox said the thing to remember is that people who mis-use water and <br />septic systems will bring sewer into the City. He urged that people follow <br />the proper guidelines on water and septic systems. <br /> <br /> <br />
