T. W. ANDERSON

Mayor Cox read the Planning and Zoning recommendations of October 2, 1978.

Dr. Anderson stated they started about three or four years ago on the
idea of a dental clinic in Ramsey. He briefly stated what has been done
to date - 1) a soils test as required, 2) talked to the Highway Department
about making 167th Avenue a through street to Helium. The Highway Depart-
ment felt it would be better egress from 167th Avenue, 3) Agree to install
right hand turn lane.

The land is presently zoned residential and Dr. Anderson feels the dental
clinic would act as an adequate buffer. The building he is proposing is
about 4,000 square feet and the grounds would be landscaped and an-under-
ground sprinkler installed.

He also stated it is a central location and the citizens are highly favor-
able. He turned over a petition signed by residents of Ramsey supporting
the clinic.

tie also stated that Planning and Zoning considers each request for rezoning
on their own merits and feels this request has been met favorably by them.

Mr. Art Braun stated the medical center is planned with dental services
as well as a drug store. He believes they would be opening pandora's box
as far as the Comprehensive Plan on zoning and in granting this request
would cause the city further problems.

Mr. Rick Seoul doesn't feel the area in question is a choice residential
area and the City should be more conducive to small business. He feels it
is a good idea.

Mr. Ron Jankowski said that taxes are on all minds and bringing business
into the area would help the tax base. He feels the City should look ad-
versely on the zoning plan.

Mr. Bill Easley feels that starting the zoning for business at 153rd is
too close to Anoka. As far as Dr. Anderson, he feels he is in an ideal
location and is in favor. He also feels some competition is needed in the
medical area.
