Caitlyn stated that they are in the process of building a half scale model for the homes that would <br />be built if the students win the competition, which would be 8 feet x 6 feet x 8 feet. She stated <br />that direction from the City as to where those shelters could be built would also be helpful. <br />Student stated that it would be helpful if the City was aware of legal issues that could arise. <br />Mayor Strommen stated that the Council appreciates the student participation and noted that the <br />Ramsey City council recently met with local homeless shelters to learn additional ways in which <br />the City can help. <br />Student stated that they have worked with Stepping Stone to determine what the organization <br />would like to see included in the shelters. <br />City Administrator Ulrich stated that staff can work with the group regarding legal issues and <br />zoning ratifications. <br />3. CITIZEN INPUT <br />Wes Volkenant, 1482 158th Lane NW in Andover, stated that he is the Senate District DFL Chair <br />and reminded residents that the second part of the special senate election contest will be held on <br />Tuesday, February 9th to serve this year. He stated that Tuesday, March 1st is precinct caucus <br />night, noting that everyone in Ramsey would meet at Ramsey Elementary with the two parties <br />meeting in different areas of the school. He stated that the doors would open for caucuses at <br />6:30 with the caucus beginning at 7:00 p.m. <br />Mayor Strommen stated that residents wishing to vote in the special election that are not sure of <br />their polling location can find that information on the City website. <br />4.
