The Data Processing/Accounting Clerk will accomplish the following duties: <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />1) <br />2) <br /> <br />3) <br /> <br />4) <br /> <br />5) <br /> <br />6) <br /> <br />7) <br /> <br />8) <br /> <br /> a) <br /> b) <br /> c) <br /> d) <br /> e) <br /> f) <br /> g) <br />Payroll <br /> a) <br /> b) <br /> c) <br /> a) <br /> <br />Input data into computer terminal <br />Accounts payable <br /> Prepare bills for payment <br /> Prepare bills list for Council <br /> Prepare manual checks <br /> Maintain goods received list file <br /> Maintain purchase order file (marking paid and received) <br /> Maintain vendor file <br /> Handle phone calls regarding bills <br /> <br /> b) <br /> c) <br /> d) <br /> e) <br /> f) <br />Budget <br /> a) <br /> b) <br /> <br /> Maintain master records <br /> Distribute paychecks <br /> Assist with withholding reports <br /> Maintain sick time, vacation time and comp time balances <br />Accounts receivable <br />a) Prepare and mail monthly billings <br />b) Prepare past due notices <br />c) Prepare write off list for Council <br />d) Maintain accounts receivable balance <br />Special assessments <br />a) Verify parcel to parcel each years collection <br /> Maintain Outstanding parcels.list <br /> Prepare payoff notices for Anoka County <br /> Maintain Green Acres and tax forfeit file <br /> Maintain card file for special assessments <br /> Prepare special assessment searches <br /> <br /> Prepare budget worksheets with historical work data' <br /> Make changes to worksheets <br />Fixed Asset Record <br /> a) Prepare property record <br /> b) Record additions and disposal <br />Miscellaneous <br /> a) Maintain checking and savings balances <br /> b) Maintain escrow deposit balances <br /> c) Prepare bank deposits <br /> d) Typing (which will encompass a lot of work areas) <br /> e) General office duties as needed <br /> <br />Accordingly, the above position will allow the City Accountant and <br />Deputy Clerk to accomplish the following duties in greater depth or as <br />a first time accomplishment. <br /> <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />a) City Accountant: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />Supervise the total accounting effort covering a very <br />broad area. It should be noted that the State law <br />enacted in 1978 set up some very stringent requirements <br />for Cities over 2,500. <br /> <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />Investments - The investing of City funds is a very <br />timeconsuming facet. However, it cannot be ignored <br />because there are many dollars to be earned for the <br />City in this area as you are aware when reviewing the <br />monthly and quarterly financial reports. <br /> <br /> <br />
