During this " <br />process, the Metropolitan ~aste Control Commis.sion ' <br />reviewed and commented on the semer element of your' <br />plan. These comments (at~ached) identified those <br />items that mil~ be necessary to develop the sewer <br />eJemenE of the plan into a comprehensive sewer pJan <br />ur, der the requirements of the Metropolitan Waste <br />ConLrol Commission Aet~ Minnesota Statutes~ Chapter <br />4736. <br /> <br />This AoL requires that each local government unit <br />· ithin the Metropolitan area adopt a comprehensive <br />sewer policy plan For the collection, treatment and <br />disposal of sewage in accordance with the Council's <br />~ater Quality Management Plan. The Act states that <br />cons[ruction off sewage facilities shall not be initiated <br />unless the governing body has determined the proposed <br />facilities are consistent with its comprehensive sewer <br />plan as approved by the Commission. <br /> <br />Each governmental unit, upon completion of the Council's <br />revie~ off its respective comprehensive plan, is provided <br />wi~h nine months ~o make any necessary modifications and <br />adopt its comprehensive plan. Upon adoption of your <br />comprehensive plan, it is requested that you submit the <br />modified sewer element of your comprehensive plan to the <br />Commission for revie~ and approval at an early date. <br /> <br />Sincerely, ~ <br /> <br /> orge W.
