However, they were included in the annual report for
1981 and therefore are 1981 construction and not included for January. There
have been no permits issued since the first of the year and requests for
inspections have been minimal.

I have spent my time in a number of areas which included, but are not limited
to:

1) Energy conservation at City Hall
2) Completion of the lower level at City Hall
3) Comprehensive Plan
4) Various items for Pi'arming and Zoning

The Building Official's annual school was held from January 13th to 15th and
both Lester and I attended. The sessions were extremely good and covered not
only classes on current code requirements where individuals have problems with
interpretation, but also covered new code changes and current legislation in
respect to building codes. It is essential that anyone charged with enforce-
ment of the code stay abreast by attending these seminars. Continued education
is, without a doubt, a must.

A committee of two local contractors, Councilman Cox, and myself will be getting
together Tuesday, January 26, 1982 to review the energy situation at City Hall.
Hopefully a written report will be available for distribution at the Council
meeting. If it is not, we will report verbally on this matter.

will be available for the meeting for any other questions you may have.
CRB:po
