City of Ramsey <br />Official Transportation Policy Statements <br />May 2004 <br /> <br />The City of Ramsey believes that a proactive approach to addressing transportation <br />needs and issues throughout the City of Ramsey, particularly along major transportation <br />corridors, it critical to community's economy and quality of life. <br /> <br />This document serves to lay out the priorities and plans for short and long-term <br />transportation improvements in an effort to promote effective land use and development <br />in the City of Ramsey. The projects and potential plans identified in this document are <br />not necessarily programmed or funded at this time; however the City is committed to <br />pursuing and securing resources necessary for implementation. The City will continue <br />to work with its partner agencies at the local, state and federal level to secure funding <br />and additional improvements within and adjacent to our borders. <br /> <br />The following section highlights one of the goals and subsequent action steps relative to <br />transportation that was identified as part of the City of Ramsey's 5-Year Strategic <br />Planning process. The goals documented as part of the 5-Year Strategic plan are <br />considered high-priority and serve as the basis the more detailed project list identified <br />and included in these policy statements and therefore further support the strategic <br />direction set forth by the Ramsey City Council. <br /> <br />City of Ramsey - 5-Year Strategic Plan - Transportation <br /> <br />Goal: To advocate with other agencies to develop a regional transportation plan to <br /> support the needs of the Ramsey community. <br /> <br />Action Steps: <br /> <br />· Develop a transportation plan that identifies priorities for the transportation <br /> needs of the community. <br />· US Highway 10 <br /> o Complete the Official Mapping process for the Highway 10 corridor. <br /> o Seek and secure funding opportunities for planning, design, and <br /> construction of Highway 10 interchanges. <br /> o Work with Highway 10 property owners to ensure successful transition of <br /> the Highway 10 corridor and seek out relocation opportunities. <br /> o See and secure funding for the construction of the Highway 10 corridor to <br /> a freeway. <br />· State Highway47 <br /> o Seek and secure funding for the improvement of State Highway 47 from <br /> north of Alpine Drive to the Trott Brook. <br /> <br />City of Ramsey <br />DRAFT Transportation Policy/Direction <br /> <br /> May 2004 <br />The Tinklenberg Group <br /> <br /> <br />
