The Council should look for funding of this program as <br />an alternative to County budgeting. Communications: Quality of <br />signal throughout the enti~e County should be of the same high <br />consistency. M.C.I.U.: a re-evaluation of the M.C.I.U. should be <br />done. Because of the case loads of felonies it should be the <br />Major Crime Unit instead of Felony Unit. <br /> <br />Jim Hill: Indicated that it was unlimited as to what this Council <br />could do. He felt that the Council is at an ackward and stagnated <br />state at the present time. <br /> <br />Dennis Schneider: The Council has good goals. He felt that there <br />was not enough dollar figures available and there should be more <br />detail in police control and decision making. <br /> <br />Dick Blomquist: Mr. B10mquist felt there is a distinct need to <br />continue the Anoka County Joint Law Enforcement Council. Its <br />function should be operational and policy/advisory and that it should <br />involve more communities than what now exists. <br /> <br />Jerry Nelson: There is an organizational need in the County. <br />felt there was a lack Of direction on the part of the elected <br />officials and the professional individuals. <br /> <br />He <br /> <br />Edward LaTuff: There is a need at' the present time to make an <br />identification of the data and trends as it exists today. The <br />Council should look to the Metro Council and State involvement to <br />achieve this goal. A "revolving door" effect is presently being <br />experienced under the current system whereas most Chiefs belong to <br />'both Council and the Chiefs' Association and that the Chiefs' Assn. <br />should send a~representative to the Council meetings. <br /> <br />Comm. Dick Lang: Comm. Lang indicated he felt that budget input <br />could have a very definite impact if it was endorsed as a total <br />group effort. <br /> <br /> <br />
