Admittedly, their location obviously has problems, else why the great vacancies? However, the Ramsey City Council is certainly not the guarantor of their success. As I indicated previously, I would have spoken in favor of a rezoning around Hwy 47 and 167th Ave because that is wheeze I believe it belongs. I would have encouraged the realtor and the Clinic to seek land and zoning at the site today proposed for rezoning WHICH I DID NOT THEN OWN. I was not consulted. In short, it appears to me that all o£ the objections now put forth are founded on the realtor's failure to pursue through the proper channels zoning which would have allowed them to locate at 167th & Hwy /47. This was the site or general area they wanted alt along. The record fails to show that they made any application to secure proper zoning through a procedure such as this. Their objections, while sincere, are not founded in fact, and must be called "sour grapes." 3) METRO COUNCIL As I understand it, action is near regarding adoption of the City's Com- prehensive Plan. If this council believes that our proposal provides real benefit to our community, as I do, it should adopt the plan showing the area around 167th and Hwy 47 as a commercial site. I believe it is the City's job to first and foremost provide for the well being of its' citizens. This rezoning Will do that. Look back to the Council, that of County. These story.
