Motion by Councilman Cox and seconded by Councilman Sorteberg to revert
Ben Deemer's market value back to last year's.

Motion carried. Voting yes-Mayor Gamec, Councilman Sorteberg and Cox.
Voting no-Councilman Reimann.

RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY

Mr. Ed Hamilton, 6615 H~ghway 10, Plat #89324, Parcel #1400
Mr. Hamilton explained his residence is on Highway 10 next to the trailer
park and his valuation went from $27,000 to $87,000, which is a 322% increase.

Mayor Gamec explained that the board action that was taken tonight would drop
his valuation to last year's.

Mr. Hamilton said the valuation he was talking about was last year's.

Mayor Gamec suggested that Mr. Hamilton come in · talk to the City Administrator
about requesting the parcel to be rezoned. He explained that Mr. Hamilton's
residence is under residential valuation, but his land. is under commercial
valuation.

Motion by Councilman Cox and seconded by Councilman Sorteberg to have the request
for rezoning of Plat $89324, Parcel $1400 presented to the City Council if
Mr. Hamilton so desires.

Motion carried, voting yes- Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Sorteberg, Reimann and
Cox. Voting no-None.

Mr. Winslow Holasek, 1159 N.W. Andover Blvd., Plat #89329, Parcel #2280-9

Mr. Holasek asked what the criteria was for sending out notices'because he
did not receive a notice this year or last year. He said his valuation
went from $26,000 to $44,600 last year and to $62,900 this year. He said
the total lot size for both lots is 125 feet.

City Assessor Wirz said the increase from $44,600 to $62,900 is a 14% increase
this year. He said there is a mathematical error on the structure value
which should be $42,100 instead of $49,400. The land was valued from $9700
to $13,500.

Mr. Holasek asked what the market value was.

City Assessor Wirz told him the market value was $55,600. He said he found
the reason for the mistake, which was that there should have been a 15%
depreciation. He said $55,600 minus the $42,100 structure equals $13,500
value for the land. He said the range of square footage base is $39.75/sq. ft
and $19.45/sq. ft.

Mr. Holasek said the house which is 464 square feet on a slab, is 30 to
40 years old with renovations. He asked the board to consider reduction
of the valuation on it.

City Assessor Wirz said it is right in the ballpark with the rest in the city
and he didn't see any reason to lower it.

Board of Review
May 22, 1980
Page 5
