I have also made a curso~~ review of other sites in the City that could meet the needs of the ~blic Works Department. In reviewing the needs for .~ i~uk~lic Works Facility, I met with the City Administrator and Public Works Director. Following is a list of requirements fo~' a Put~lic Works Facility: Sit~ Requirements Located on or close to ~ east-west and/or north-south thoroughfare for quick access to the (~..~ty's Street Network. Centrally located to be able to provide service to all areas of the city with approxima~elty the same travel time. Located within or close the urban area to avoid excessive travel time in maintaining uti~J.~:ies in that area. Adequate area for futur~ expansion of all departments of public works, which include st.~eets, sewer, water storm sewer and parks and recreation. 5. Adequate area for stora~{e of materials and equipment. Adequate area for inter.'i~m storage of construction materials such as gravel, topsoil, sealco~t aggregate and sand. Located in an area desi)~eable for possible construction of a fire barn should the City el~c~ to establish its own fire department. 8. Adequate are~ for insta]~.lation of underground fuel tanks. 9. Located in area desirea~le for installation of a municipal well. 10. Excess material availab3e for construction of roads or sanding. 11. Proposed use permitted %~:n~er current zoning with minor impacts to surrounding area.
