Plan'D

This plan is also a variation on Plans A and C which illustrates
separating the future restrooms from the picnic shelter. The
restrooms would be raised above flood elevation while the shelter
would not. The plan illustrates a restroom on the north side of the
access road. This could work only with a soccer field and not with a
softball field. Another concern is the steep slope adjacent to the
access road and safety of children playing on that slope. This
location also would require shifting the soccer field north and
provides little sideline room which could be a source of problems
between park users and neighbors.

An alternative location for the restrooms would be east of the tennis
courts. This may reduce costs of sewer hook up but the remoteness of
both the restrooms and picnic shelter from the parking lot is a
concern. Under this alternative location, however, both softball
and/or a soccer field could be provided.

SUMMARY

While restrooms or a picnic shelter are not included as work items in
this grant, the grading and fill requirements can be included under
site improvements. It would thus be well to settle on an agreed upon
plan. We will be able to develop better cost estimates for the City's
information as we move along with the surveying and design program.
At this point, it looks as though a lift pump may be required for all
alternatives except possibly "D" with restrooms east of the tennis
courts.
