Councilmember Cox - Aye <br />Councilr~r Reimann - Aye <br />Councilnm~nber Sorteberg - Aye <br />Councilmember Schlueter - Naye <br />Mayor Hei tman - Naye <br /> <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />Mr. Otter stated that a meeting with the County Board has been tentatiw~y set <br />for 7:30 t~n. on December 19 to discuss landfill conditions and groundwater <br />study; members of Ramsey Council and Landfill Ad Hoc Committee and ars; other <br />concerned residents are welcome to attend that meeting. <br /> <br />Mr. Goodrich stated that he will make sure that Waste Management has paid the <br />appropriate fees for the temporary conditional use permit. <br /> <br />B. Anoka gDuntv's RDF S~t~n~ ADd ~Transfer ~tat~on Action: <br /> <br />Mr. Goodrich stated that he attended the November 26 meening of the County <br />Board in which Anoka and Blaine were selected as alternate sites for an RDF <br />facility. At that meeting Mr. Goodrich stated, in Ramsey's behalf, that ti~e <br />Anoka Site is adjacent to Ramsey and Ramsey would get the impact, may get the <br />residue and would not get any of the tax base from the facilitT. <br /> <br />Councilmember COx stated that he would like to discuss with Waste ~nagement of <br />~tinnesota the possibility of Ramsey residents again obtaining the opportunity <br />for free dt~nping days at th~ landfill. <br /> <br />Mr. Otter stated that free dumping days is a possibility and he would be <br />willing to discuss it further. <br /> <br />C. Imndfi]l Second Round Hydrooeolocica] InvesticatJon ~r~ts: <br /> <br />Mayor Heitman stated that very often it is stated, as in Mr. Raatikka's letter <br />d~.ted November 22, 1985 that contaminants found in testing are the res'alt of <br />testing procedures and not caused by the landfill; this ~'mgins to stretch the <br />credibility of the testing procedures. <br /> <br />Mz. Otter stated that testing to 1 part per billion is very difficult; in the <br />specific wells to which Mayor Heitman is referring t~he acetone level was '0'; <br />that sample was split with PCA and their finding was a '0' acetone level also. <br />Waste ~nagement of M_innesota's testing is done by an independent laboratory <br />not affiliated with Waste Management. <br /> <br />Motion by Counciln~nber COx and seconded by Councilm~r Reim~nn for a Council <br />recess. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Hei~nan, Counciimembers Sorteberg, Cox, <br />Reimann and Schlueter.
