Stated <br />that he does not understand the logic behind an airport stimulating the <br />industrial base; no company would want an aiport on their liability list. <br /> <br />Sharon ~'ager - 7260 152nd Lane - Stated that these people are not against <br />airport safety zon.!ng; they are afraid of air crashes and in favor of <br />safety. Stated that there has been no safety zoning in place for the <br />existing airport of 15 years and inquired if the zoning proposed is what is <br />needed for the airport as it exists today. <br /> <br />Merland Otto stated that the zoning plan up for adoption is geared to <br />accommodate the future, improved airport; what is proposed would also <br />protect the existing approaches except for the east/west runway; if there <br />were to be zoning for the existing airport that met State criteria, there <br />would have to be some acquisition in the approach areas, but not to the <br />same degree~ <br /> <br />Woody Nelson - 5410 173rd Avenue N.W. - Stated he is a pilot and took his <br />training at Gateway. Stated that the process put together by the Council <br />and the Airport Commission to go through studies and generate information <br />on the feasibility and enviromental impacts and adoption of safety zoning, <br />which is a part of that process, continue so that Council can make an <br />informed decision on whether or not the airport should be improved. <br /> <br />Tom Kurak- 15000 Sunfish Lake Blvd. - Stated that airport zoning will <br />upgrade many facets of community life in Ramsey; it is also necessary for <br />industrial development also. <br /> <br />Allen Sha!lbetter - 17060 Bison - Stated that he agrees that Council needs <br />to take action cn :he zoning ordinance as three more homes were built in <br />that are~ this summer that would be affected by Airport Safety Zones A or <br />B.
