Citizens want service <br />and they are willing to l~y for it. (buncilms~ber ~ stated that it can <br />be researched, but he doesn't think privatization will\prove to be a cost <br /> <br />Councilms~ber Cox stated that there was a unanimous motion s(~e months ago <br />to review privatization of the streets department; that should be followed <br />up before making any decisions regarding land, equilm~nt and buildings. <br /> <br />Council directed City Staff to review privatization of the public works <br />department and report back to Council. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmsmber Cox and seconded by Councilms~ber Pearson to table <br />any action regarding public works property, a one-ton truck and a light <br />eguil~ent operator ~til after staff's report on privatization has been <br />received by Council. <br /> <br />Motion carried, voting Yes: Mayor Beimann, Councilm~mbers Sorteberg, Cox, <br />DeLuca and Pearson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />d) Amending State Aid Mileage System - <br /> <br />Mr. Raatikka stated that Mar(~ 1, 1987 is the deadline for adding onto the <br />city's state aid mileage system for credit for 1988 needs. Recommend <br />adding mileage for extending 138th Avenue to Ramsey Blvd. and connecting <br />Sunfish Lake to the Front Street easement. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Sorteberg and seconded by Councilmember Cox <br />directing the City Engineer to present the recommended additional mileage <br />to the State Aid District Engineer. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Council~hers Sorteberg, Cox, <br />DeLuca and Pearson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case %17.. Receive Price Ouotes For Flusher/Water Truck Conversi~: <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmsmber Cox and seconded by Councilms~ber Pearson to table <br />this case until the results of staff investigation regarding privatization <br />are received by City Council. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
